Race Week Update
TWO WEEKS AND COUNTING...
Entries set to exceed 2017
With less than two weeks to go the number of entries stands at 26. A strong contingent is again travelling north from Townsville, Cairns and even further afield with several boats to make their Port Douglas Race Week debut.
Division 1: Performance Handicap (boats over 9 metres) welcomes newcomers Akarana, Calico, Charm Offensive, Grey Dawn, Rainbow and Y Knot to mix it up with Clipper Cup regulars Brava, Centinela, Certa Cito, Champagne, Impulse, Shazam, Volare 1, Whitecap, Wild Spirit and Yes.
Division 2: Performance Handicap (NO spinnakers or Code Zeros) is making the mark with regulars Casuarina and Lady Mystique being joined by Callista 1. Plenty of room in this division still!
Division 4: Sports Boats, (J24 and similar boats under 9 metres) is looking good with the usual suspects Kaizen II, QT Mais Oui (all female crew), Viva La Beaver and Out Of The Blue to be joined by another all female crew on Grannuaile.
With a raft of expected late entries still to come in these divisions 2018's shaping up to be another classic.
Calling all Multihulls...
Division 3: Multihulls is almost over the line. Graeme Etherton and the crew of The Boat, the Crowther Windspeed 32 from Townsville has been the solitary entry for quite some time. But not anymore! Enter Kieran Erasmuson and the Seawind Custom 33 String from PDYC. The division just needs one more entry and we'll be up and running. Put the word out and let's get some entries in.
