Elkton Elementary School Memo
Distant Learning Resources for Parents/Students
May 4, 2020
I hope everyone is doing well. I miss our students very much. I want to thank you for supporting your child(ren) during this uncertain time. Don't worry about your child regressing. Every single kid is in this boat and they all will be okay. When we are back in the classroom, WE will meet them where they are. Teachers are experts at this! If your child is having difficulty following the "distant learning schedule", it is alright to defer or "drop back and punt". Take a break. Don't mandate two hours of learning time if they are resisting it. The grade level links have new activities/lessons for May 4-15th.
If I can leave you with one thing, it's this, at the end of all this, your kid's mental health will be more important than their academic skills. And how they felt during this time will stay with them long after the memory of what they did during those weeks is long gone.
Take Care!
Mrs. Palmer
