Grandparent Lunches
Below is the schedule. Your child's teacher should have sent out the lunch schedule for your classroom. Tickets will be purchased as you enter the lobby, so come a few minutes early. There will be chairs sitting in the hallway entrance area to the cafeteria. Please wait until your child's class arrives.
Wednesday, September 5th: 3rd and 4th grades and Learning Labs
Thursday, September 6th: 2nd and 5th grades
Friday, September 7th: 4K, 5K, and 1st grades
We need parent volunteers to help us serve drinks and show guests to their tables. If you are available to come and help, please sign up on the link below:
Chromebooks are Coming Home for 3rd - 5th Grade Students
The chromebook will be viewed in the same way paper, pencil, textbooks, or other instructional materials have been viewed, critical for daily instruction. Our teachers have created expectations, policies and procedures for chromebook use both at home and in the classroom. They will communicate this to you in their weekly correspondence this week.
At the beginning of the year, you were given a North Pointe Parent Student Handbook. At the end of this handbook there is a section entitled Anderson Five 1:1 Parent Student Handbook. I have included this document below.
As questions arise about the use of chromebooks and the take-home policies, please know that we are open to your questions and concerns. I encourage you to talk to your child's teacher about this if you have questions.
Chromebooks will NOT be sent home on the day before MAP or state testing. Teachers will communicate these dates with you.
Parent Conferences
For students in grades 4-5, teachers have received the state test reports from last spring and will be sharing this information with you. These parent reports will be sent home district-wide on Friday, September 14th.
We want you to know that you are a critical part of your child's North Pointe team and we value your input and support!
From the Parent Student Handbook...
VISITOR POLICY
For the safety of our school community, all visitors must request entry into the building at the school’s main entrance only. To request entrance into the building, visitors will use the call box, located to the right of the front office door. Here, they will identify themselves to office personnel. Please stand facing the call box so that school personnel can identify you through the entrance camera. All school visitors, including parents, must first report to the front office and sign in through Lobby Guard. A driver’s license is required to through this system. If you do not have a driver’s license with you, then you will need to speak with an administrator. Visitors must wear a visitor’s badge when visiting the school. At no time may any visitor go to a classroom to see a student or teacher without signing in first. Visitor parking is at the front of the building. Please do not park in the driveway in the front of the building. This area must be free for cars driving through the car line and for emergency personnel. We encourage parents to visit and volunteer in the classrooms, but ask that you keep your visits short to avoid disruptions to the instructional program. Unscheduled classroom visits must be approved by an administrator in advance. Every effort will be made to schedule meetings and conferences with parents quickly, but at a time that does not interfere with instruction.MAP Testing
Throughout the year you will hear from your child's teacher about their 'MAP score'. This nationally-normed test provides very important information about where your child scores in comparison to their same-age peers around the nation. Teachers use the test data to group students according to their academic needs and to guide their small group instruction for all students.
Due to the site being down last week, we had to postpone several days of testing, causing several grade-levels not to complete one or both subjects. The updated schedule is below. Please be sure your child gets a good breakfast and is on time for school on their testing day.
*3rd - 5th grade parents: Remember that chromebooks do not go home the day before testing.

We have a GARDEN!
Special thanks to Mrs. Osborn, Ms. Hayes, and Mrs. Brown for their hard work and commitment to putting the garden together and for attending the training this summer for the grant. We look forward to getting our students out there for this unique hands-on learning opportunity!
