Thankful
I do want to take this moment and thank all of our families for their support of our students, staff, and school programs. It's an honor to share with district and community leaders the achievements that our students make. We are blessed to have such an amazing group of families at New Haven.
I am also thankful for the events and moments we had with our kids through the month of October. I am so very thankful that we get to spend each day together! We have the very best and creative kids in Boone County!

20-21 State Kprep Scores Summary
This year we are still unsure what the state assessment will look like for our students. This will be a new baseline year with us because of the reduction of our student population. Our state set goals for reading and math; however, will not be recalculated. Testing occurs in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

Activities
Girls Basketball is wrapping up in the next 2 weeks! It's been a great season for the girls. Thank you to all of our coaches who have donated their time and talents! The girls have had a blast.
Transportation
I am trying to work out a practice with our transportation department that they send out an ALL call to families in the morning when a bus will be late or have a double run. We are often not getting a message from transportation until after 8:00 am when there is an issue, and honestly many of you have already let us know there is a situation with busing. We often can send out an ALL CALL to families for the afternoon runs when they let us know ahead of time, but it's the morning runs that seem to be causing the most stress for everyone. I do apologize for all of this, as this year, has been a hardship for everyone with the lack of drivers. I am grateful that the district does continue to problem solve so that we can continue to provide busing for all areas, however; we still have many issues to solve. It seems as the hiccup in communication is because the dispatchers are driving buses as well. Regardless, we will work on this so that you are aware of what to expect.

Read-a-thon: We had such a great response with our Read-a-thon. We had about 450 of our 650 students participate. Here are some of our highlights:
* Our kids read just over 43,500 minutes during the week.
* Ms. Wilson's class had the most minutes read out of the school with about 2500 minutes.
* Mrs. Danner's class raised the most pledges.
* Haleigh Shields read the most minutes for the week (810 minutes!!!)
* Reese Thornton, Jaci Tracy, and Logan Lowe were our top fundraisers.
* Sebastian Daniels was selected to pie Mrs. Goble, but opted not to do it! <3 Colin McCoy was then selected and represented well!
* Our students pledged about $15,000 for our school! Wow!!! Thank you NEW HAVEN community.
