The Book Thief

The Book Thief is about a young orphaned German girl who lives in Nazi Germany during World War II. She is taken to an old couple near the city of Munich on Himmel Street.

The girl, Liesel Meminger, goes to school and does everyday things while out in the world, Germany is taking over with their Nazi ideas.

Her foster parents take good care of her and even teaches her how to read. She meets Rudy Steiner who becomes her best friend and also befriends Max, the secret Jew that her foster parents take in. Liesel finds out that her foster parents are not true Nazis and what really happened to her first family.

At the end, Death takes over Himmel Street as Nazi Germany falls and Liesel Meminger would never forget the that day when her life turned around.
