Renberg Elementary Newsletter
Principal's Corner
Hello Renberg Parents and Guardians,
April has arrived and state testing for students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade will begin soon. During this month, it will be especially important that your student gets a good night sleep and a healthy breakfast to begin each day. Our Renberg students have worked very hard this year and have learned so much! We want them to be able to show what they have learned on the state test as well as the spring MAP Growth Assessment.
April is also the month for spring concerts! On Thursday, April 4th, the 4th and 5th Grade Band and Orchestra Concert was held. Our band and orchestra students have come so far this year and put on a great concert. The 2nd Grade Vocal Music Concert is scheduled for April 29, at 6:00.
Although the weather is getting warmer, please make sure your student comes to school with a coat. If the temperature is below 60 degrees, students must wear coats at recess.
I hope that you all have a wonderful month of April. May will be here before we know it!

Parent Survey
Please click on the link above to complete the SFSD Parent/Guardian Survey. As a district and a school, we always want to know how we are doing and what we can do better.
News From the Nurse
It is hard to believe, but SUMMER IS NEAR!
If your child has medication in school, be advised that it must be picked up by a parent or guardian by Thursday May 23, 2024. It cannot be sent home with your student. Any medication remaining at school after 3pm on May 23rd, will be destroyed unless you have made special arrangements with the nurse.
In order to have everything in place for the beginning of the school year, I have attached the link where you can find our medication forms. Each year a new form needs to be completed if your student will need medication in school. The appropriate forms need to be filled out and signed by both your physician and the parent/guardian. The forms can be provided to you by the school, or accessed using the following link, https://www.sf.k12.sd.us/page/health-services

PTA News
PTA Meeting
Our February PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, April 11, at 5:00 in the school library.
Cards for a Cause
Thank you to all who purchased a box of cards for the PTA fundraiser Cards for a Cause. The PTA raised $1,248. With these funds, indoor recess games were purchased along with tubs to store the items in. They are ready to go for our next rainy (or snowy) day!
Got Sneakers
We are continuing with our Got Sneakers Fundraiser. Please consider a donation of used sneakers/athletic shoes, or cleats (rubber cleats only). There is a large tub in the entry way for sneaker collection. Thank you for your generosity and for helping to keep shoes out of landfills.
Attendance
Let's Talk
We have a new check-in system for visitors. You will only have to scan your ID or Driver's License one time. The system is set up with an iPad and is very simple to use. Please be sure you have your ID/Driver's License the next time you visit Renberg.
Thank you!
