ANNUAL THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
Mrs. Binder and the Mission Club will coordinate the collection efforts this year. They are decorating collection boxes to be placed in the homerooms. They will pick up and carry the boxes to the E-Bldg to prepare for the assembly of the baskets. We will collect food items through next Wednesday, November 18.
Each homeroom is assigned a specific item to donate. You are asked to send in one of these items, but are welcome to bring in more. As Catholics, we are called to perform corporal works of mercy, such as feed the hungry. Any extras will go to the St. Margaret Mary Church food pantry. We have several people in need in our community. Thank you in advance for your generosity. God bless.
Please see below the class lists for donations.
COMING SOON TO THE SMM COURTYARD
Avery and Gabriella are the proprietors of the Snack Shack and will manage all aspects of their business venture. This is not a SMM fund raiser. It is completely voluntary.
The girls will sell morning snacks (muffins, pop tarts, cinnamon rolls, etc) and beverages (water, capri sun, etc) out of the window in room 3. All snacks and beverages will be individually wrapped. The Snack Shack will be open to students in grades 4 - 7 from 7:30 - 7:55 am. Snacks will be reasonably priced so there is no need for students to bring a lot of money.
The middle school teachers will take turns supervising on the days the Snack Shack is open.

TEACHER FEATURE: Coach Matt
Hi, My Name Is Coach Matt Arnold and This Is My Story
I was born and raised in New Orleans. I attended St. Anthony Elementary School in Gretna and then Archbishop Shaw High School. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from West Florida University in Pensacola. I have been teaching for 20 years and this is my 9th year at SMM. I teach Physical Education to grades Kindergarten through 7th. I coach the boys' flag football and basketball teams and am the Athletic Director.
I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in children's lives. I love coming to work at SMM everyday and seeing the kids with smiles on their faces and eager to learn.
Outside of school, I enjoy watching all sports and really enjoy playing golf. I am also heavily involved in the SMM Men's Club. I work with their feeding ministry and I play on the soft ball team. My son, Tanner, goes to PJP and is on the swim team. I like going to his swim meets and watching him do his best. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Mischa, for 24 years.
