ASSE Student Exchange
Encourage Your Students to Apply
Did You Know?
- ASSE has scholarship opportunities for students who want to study abroad in high school
- ASSE has provided these experiences for students since 1976
Why Should Your Students Join?
Rich Cultural Experience
Experience the food, entertainment, clothing, and daily life of another country. Spending time abroad will widen the perspective of your students, making them a better citizen of the world. Only so much can be understood in the classroom without experiencing it for yourself. Students will come to a new appreciation and understanding of history, music, language, and other topics.
Educational Opportunities
We know that the college admissions process is increasingly competitive. Students need to take advantage of every available opportunity to stand out to college recruiters! Experience abroad shows that a student is independent and interested in the world around them--something that colleges love to see. The rich experiences they will have also provide excellent material for college admissions essays.
Language Immersion
Language immersion is the quickest, most effective way to learn a language. Allow your students to practice what they have been studying in the classroom. All students who want to truly master a foreign language will benefit greatly from experience in country of that language. Being able to speak a second language opens up many career opportunities for students.
Now Is The BEST Time To Travel
As many people learn too late in life, when you put off traveling, life often gets in the way. As students get older, traveling becomes more expensive and their lives become too intricate to be able to get away. People who are able to travel later in life often realize that they wish they had been able to do so sooner. Studying abroad at this age is the most affordable option and can open doors for their future that may otherwise be closed!
