Travana was born on December 24, 1997 at Memorial Herman hospital to Travis Matthews and Fandre Nazir. Ever since Travana was young animals had been apart of my life, Travana grew up always having a pet. Whether it was a hamster to a dog it did not matter, she loved animals. Her older sister, Nadia, was into volleyball at the time and she played for Yates HIgh School. Travana instantly developed another obsession, sports, and then she began to play volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball, and etc loving each and every one. Travana developed a drive to do something athletic always, it altered her career want, she never wanted to sit on her bottom. Of course Travana is not just a "jock", she excels in school too. She aqcuired a like for learning in middle school, thirsty for some new knowledge. Travana was placed into the GT program in the 6th grade and it just blossomed from there. Travana loved extra-curriculer activities, she was in band and guitar at Pershing Middle School. One time while trying out for the step-team at home she was knocked unconsious and placed into the hospital for a few months. She developed a learning disability, and was told that she would struggle learning. After all the therapy she fought through and is now a student with a 3.68 GPA at Houston Academy for International Studies Early College Academy and in Student Congress. Travana constantly demonstrate good organization skills as well as leadership skills. Unfortunately, she is some what shy so that tends to be a set back for her in large groups with people she is not familiar. Ultimately nothing ever stands in between her and her grade, so she pushes through it.
