Wimmer's Weekly
English IV, Yearbook, & Writing Skills/Technical Writing
Week 17 (December 18-22)
Well everyone, we made it to the last week of the semester. As happy as I am to have this semester in the books, I am definitely reflecting fondly on the time I have had with your students. Some years, teachers get very lucky and have great students...this is one of those years! Thank you for your support at home. This week, there is really not a lot going on, other than finals. Stay safe this holiday break and enjoy your time away from school.
English IV
Students had a major essay due last Friday...I will have all those essays graded and in the Gradebook by Tuesday afternoon.
Aside from the essay, the students will take their English IV semester exams. The review is already in iTunesU and we started working on them today in class.
Yearbook
Our second major deadline is due to the publisher by this Friday (December 22nd). I will be here after school every day this week to make sure the pages we submit are accurate and look great. I would appreciate your students attending these after school editing times. Although it is not required, it is highly encouraged.
The final product they turn in for this deadline is the final exam.
Writing Skills/Technical Writing
Because these students worked hard to prepare and take the STAAR re-take exam earlier this month, the final is quite minimal. We will be reviewing literary terms and reading skills to prepare for a STAAR style final exam.
