A Weekly Newsletter for Warrior Families and Students
AUGUST 28, 2020
MHS Building doors open at 6:45 am on School Days
Greetings Warrior Families and Friends,
We can’t even begin to tell you how excited we are for September 1st! The anticipation of once again having MHS filled with the energy and enthusiasm of our students has us all smiling from ear to ear! Our staff has been working incredibly hard to ensure we are ready to make it a great start for every student. Yes, there will be some changes to our practices and procedures, but the genuine care and support for our Warriors will remain the foundation of what makes MHS such a special place.
We all learned a lot from the experiences of last spring. As a result, you will see some improvements in place to make sure every Warrior is set up to be successful no matter what we might face in the 2020/21 school year. Much of the information below has already been shared in the district’s Parent FAQ and through videos shared on social media. If you have additional questions about things happening at MHS please feel free to reach out. The strong partnerships we have with our families and community is what makes Muskego High School so successful.
Special note to our incoming class of 2024 students and families. You are going to LOVE being a WARRIOR! We know this is a big transition but you are going to have a huge support network. Our students are great mentors and our families fully embrace the idea of a Warrior Family. If you have any questions or need anything, please reach out. These four years go by so fast and we will do everything we can to make sure your student is successful.
Have an awesome weekend and GO WARRIORS!

Academic Information
We are excited about several improvements that we believe will help you stay informed about the academic progress of your student(s). Infinite Campus will remain the primary source for you to check on the grades for your student. Please make sure you know how to log on to check grades. If you have any questions about this please connect with your school counselor.
Additionally, new this year, every teacher will be utilizing a weekly agenda. These agendas will include an outline of the learning for the week and will have links to the resources and assignments. The agenda will also include codes for Google Classroom and a Google Meeting for the student to log into in case they are absent. Our hope is that all of this information will help our families have a more complete understanding of what the grades in Infinite Campus are a reflection of. These agendas can be found on the Muskego High School Webpage. On our webpage, hover your mouse over the “About” tab and a menu of options will pop up. Click on “Staff Directory and Teacher Webpages”. Once on the Staff Directory and Teacher Website page simply click on the “Profile” for the teacher you are looking for. The weekly agendas will be hyperlinks in the “Resources”. If you have any questions about this process please reach out to your school counselor or an administrator.

Warrior Welcome
Our staff is working hard to create a virtual experience for our families to get to know us better. On Wednesday, September 9th, all teachers will be providing access to videos to help you learn more about the classes your student(s) are enrolled in. These videos will include information about the learning targets, course expectations, how to stay informed, and how to access support if it is needed. Additionally, Principal Irvine will be sharing a brief introduction video about being a part of our Warrior Nation and what it means to be a Warrior. We believe a strong partnership with the families we serve is one of the most critical components to a successful school year and we appreciate your time viewing this information.

Cell Phone Usage
We will continue our focus this year on improving digital citizenship, which includes the appropriate use of cell phones during the school day. In an effort to increase student engagement and promote a positive learning environment, MHS will continue its focus on appropriate cell phone use during school hours. Providing guidelines for responsible cell phone use promotes classroom engagement, encourages academic honesty, and develops positive classroom and social interactions. For more information, review the Policy 5136 - Personal Communication Device.
