This week in Braves Football Action

The Varsity Braves close out the regular season with a trip to Churchville Chili Friday night. Game time is 7:30PM.

The JV Braves are hosting the Churchville Chili Saints at Evans Field on Thursday at 4:30PM.

The Freshman Braves play host to Irondequoit at BRAVES FIELD (change) this Saturday at 9:00AM.

The Modified Braves travel to Minerva Deland School to take on Fairport this Wednesday at 4:30PM.

Our Braves in the Community - Community Meal

The Varsity Braves moved back practice last week to help with the serving of the Community Meal at the Canandaigua Fire Hall. Great job boys!

Braves Football Spirit Shines inside CA!

Braves Nation would like to extend a special thank you to Kathy DiSalvo and her neighbors Melonie and Delaney for this wonderful display inside the Academy. Thank you for supporting the football Braves and making the kids feel special!

Volunteer Opportunities - Concessions, Chain Crew, & Merchandise

The entire football program would like to extend our gratitude for the unwavering support of our volunteers throughout this season. With out you we would not be able to provide such an incredible experience for the players, fans, and members of our community. We had record-breaking crowds at our Varsity home games this year and that made for some busy nights! Whether it was at a JV or modified game, volunteering for merchandise, chains, or concessions YOU made a difference for our Braves!

With our current 6-0 record and only one regular season game remaining, it is nearly certain that the Braves will lock up one of the top four seeds in the Section V Class A Tournament. This will result in the Braves having home field advantage in the first round of sectionals. While the tournament field will not be set for another week, it appears that CA will host a game on Friday, October 19th or Saturday, October 20th. This means that, one last time, WE WILL NEED VOLUNTEERS! Please keep your eyes open for an email next week with a volunteer sign-up link and help so that our final home game this season will be another huge success.

Also for this week...Help is needed this Thursday with JV concessions at 4PM and with the chain crew at the freshman game on Saturday at 9AM.

Frank Baker Flag & Tackle News

Update from Gil Jackson (10/10/18)

Tackle Division Update:

Due to the poor grass field conditions at the HS and more rain coming tomorrow and possibly Saturday and unavailability of the turf this Saturday, the Baker Tackle Games are going to move to Evans Field. We will play them in a similar format as last week:

10:00am 3rd/4th grade game

11:15am 5th/6th grade games (split field like last week)

Packers and Giants go to Raymour Flanigan right after game…

Next week, the games are the turf and 5th/6th grade will play full field…we can’t mess with the times this week because parents/players/coaches have other commitments. Sorry for the continued changes!! Mother Nature is undefeated!

The date/time for the End of Season Celebration has been confirmed. Tuesday, October 23rd beginning in the CA Middle School Cafeteria at 6pm. Join us for Ice Cream Sundaes and the Season Highlight Video (in the CA Middle School Auditorium after ice cream).

Flag Division Update:

The K-4 Flag Divisions have concluded their season with their games last night. They had hoped to play this Saturday, but too many families had conflicts…

The 5-6 Flag Division will conclude their season with their games tomorrow night at Evans Field.
