Newsletter Week 9, Term 1

Huirangi Primary School, Monday 28th March 2022

Kia Ora Koutou, Hello Everyone!

Another week down, and only 3 weeks until the end of term! To date we have had 35% of our students and 60% of our staff contract COVID. Managing teaching and learning this term is really proving to be a challenge. Thank you for your co operation when we made the decision to switch to home learning. We are really hoping that we have seen the worst of the virus, and we can use the next few weeks to try and get back to some normality (again!).

Please take note of the visual attached about isolation times. If you or anyone in your household has had COVID they DON'T need complete the 7 day isolation period again. Only those who haven't had COVID do.

Today we welcome back Mrs. Woodward from her back surgery. A huge thank you to Ms. Southee who has covered teaching in Room 1 since Mrs. Woodward's absence.

The school pool is now closed. A huge thank you to Wayne Havard for taking care of the pool over the summer months!

We send our love and thoughts to the Featonby family as the grieve the loss of Jessie. We have shared this news with our students this morning. The wellbeing of all of our school community is being monitored at this sad time.

Ngā mihi nui,

Natalie Looney

Three Way Conferences-Thursday 14th April

Coming home today is a booking form for your learning conference with your child and their teacher. School will be open for the interviews only. Your child will need to attend their learning conference with you. If you have difficulty finding care for your child on this date, please contact the office.

These learning conferences are different to how we have done them in the past. They will take a collaborative approach where you and your child will discuss and set learning goals for Term 2 and 3 with your teachers.

We have extended the order period for another two weeks. We need at least 10 hoodies to make an order.
