Objective
A teaching job at a campus where teachers, staff, parents, students and community members work collaboratively for the benefit of all learners.
Experience
Williams High School in Plano July 2003-June 2006
I started my teaching career at Williams High School in East Plano. Williams High School is a 9-10 center in East Plano. At Williams I taught Geometry for my first year and then Algebra 1 for the following 2 years.
Lewisville High School July 2007-June2012
I taught at LHS Main for 5 years. While at LHS Main I taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Geometry A/B, PAP Geometry, and Algebra 2. While at LHS I had the opportunity to:
· Design my standards-aligned School Web page as a vehicle for students to review, practice, and work collaboratively to learn content and skills.
· Apply for and receive several grants to earn technology such as the Classroom Performance System, Model Classroom Teacher Grant to earn a SMART Board and the Smart Slate, and an LEF grant to earn 4 iPads for classroom use before the district implementation of 1:X.
Lewisville High School Killough June 2012-Present
I decided to volunteer to transfer to the Killough campus when the district converted the campus from a 9th grade center to a 9th and 10th grade center. I felt like the younger students were whom I wanted to teach. I have enjoyed my time at Killough. While at Killough I had the opportunity to:
· Be one of the first teachers from my school to attend iBooks Author training and implement iBooks in my classroom
· Learn many ways of incorporating iPad apps into the classroom such as iBooks, Kahoot, Edmodo, Socrative, Educreations, QR codes, Desmos, iMovie and BaiBoard among others
· Attended many training sessions on Kagan Structures, Thinking Maps, and a plethora of technology training sessions (because I love instructional technology).
· Welcome esteemed guests into my classroom such as Superintendent Dr. Stephen Waddell, Zone Leader Buddy Bonner, and Educational Technology Director Jerram Froese
