The Patrick Henry Post
October 16th, 2020

Welcome to 2nd Quarter!
Only students in preschool, kindergarten, first, and second grade who chose to come back to the building will start on the 19th. All other students will remain virtual. On October 26th, all of our third, fourth, and fifth grade students who chose to come back to the building will start.
We are so excited to see all of our in-person learners, and we are also excited to see so many students were able to stay virtual for second quarter. We are SO PROUD of our students and our families for making first quarter such a successful learning environment even though there were so many challenges to face. We are also feeling so loved by our community partners, all of whom have surrounded us with resources, time, effort, and encouragement to make sure that our virtual learning was a success. Thank you to EVERY child, family member, teacher, and partner who made sure our kids kept learning even from afar!

Treats! Our staff has been hard at work lifting one another's spirits this week and several staff members were gifted with delicious treats throughout the week. We are so thankful to be a part of a family of teachers who look out for one another! | Shoutout to all staff All of our teachers and staff members have been hard at work to not only get their classrooms ready for in-person learners, but they've also been completely revamping their technology setup. Thank you to everyone who has rearranged their rooms and tech supplies to make sure that we are up and running for day 1 of second quarter! | HomeWorks! Donations Our community partner HomeWorks! has donated an iPad stand to each of our teachers to make sure they can stand comfortably while they teach and live stream their lessons outside of their classrooms. The stands can be pulled up to standing height and can be moved throughout the room. Awesome gift, HomeWorks! |

We are happy to see that his staff at the Learning Center appreciated his work this past quarter! | Ms. Hammock and Ms. Jackson Our upper elementary teachers received a shoutout from HomeWorks! for logging all of the Patrick Henry virtual home visits that have been completed this year. Awesome job, Ms. Hammock and Ms. Jackson!! | Patrick Henry Heroes All staff received their new tshirts this week to get ready for in-person learners coming on Monday, October 19th. We are ready to welcome our students with our masks on. Thank you to our Patrick Henry Heroes for wearing their masks and teaching our students why they must also wear a mask. |
