Welcome to 2nd Quarter!

We are gearing up to welcome our in-person learners back to school on October 19th. There are many changes that are taking place on October 19th, most importantly, your child's teacher might be changing. Please keep an eye out for communication from our staff this weekend to welcome them to a new Team page or to their in-person classroom.

Only students in preschool, kindergarten, first, and second grade who chose to come back to the building will start on the 19th. All other students will remain virtual. On October 26th, all of our third, fourth, and fifth grade students who chose to come back to the building will start.

We are so excited to see all of our in-person learners, and we are also excited to see so many students were able to stay virtual for second quarter. We are SO PROUD of our students and our families for making first quarter such a successful learning environment even though there were so many challenges to face. We are also feeling so loved by our community partners, all of whom have surrounded us with resources, time, effort, and encouragement to make sure that our virtual learning was a success. Thank you to EVERY child, family member, teacher, and partner who made sure our kids kept learning even from afar!

Patrick Henry Heroes Wear Masks!

Big picture
Thank you to Ms. Valentine, our Early Childhood Teacher, for modeling our new staff shirts that show off how important it is to properly wear a mask. We will all be wearing our shirts on Monday to encourage our students to participate in the fun of being a Patrick Henry Hero. Make sure to help your child understand why it's so important to wear a mask over your mouth and nose at all times when they are in school or in a public place.

Magnet Middle School Applications

Big picture
Believe it or not, it is already time for our fifth graders to start applying for middle school for the 2021-2022 school year! It is really incredible to think about some of our students who have been here at Patrick Henry since prek are ready to leave us for the new adventures of middle school. We are so excited for them, and we cannot wait to see where this next phase of life takes them! This week, all fourth and fifth graders met with Dr. Rogers to review middle school opportunities in St. Louis Public Schools. Click the link below for a copy of the presentation so you can see some amazing schools and experiences our district has to offer. You can also click the links below to access each magnet middle school website and learn more about the application process. All families of fifth graders are encouraged to take the next two weeks to think through their options as a family and determine what is best for their child. Call us with questions - we are here to help! Good luck to each one of our future middle schoolers - we know that you will do an incredible job no matter the school you choose, and we are proud of you for all that you have accomplished already!

Ms. Jackson's 3rd Graders

Our third grade students are loving Clementine! Here they are making a movie with Ms. Jackson as they imagine that they are the characters in the story. We love seeing the students' enthusiasm for this story and appreciate Ms. Jackson's creativity in an engaging assignment for the virtual class!
