Information and Reminders

  • Thank you to all the parents who spent a day chaperoning our field trip. I really appreciate your help.
  • Students can wear a costume on Thursday. Please no masks or scary outfits.
  • We will have a Halloween hunt this Thursday around the school. The students will get to use the ipads to read the clues in the hall.
  • There will be no reading response journal due this week.
  • I am sending home the new reading log for the 2nd nine weeks.

There is no new story this week. We will be reviewing our reading skills using pumpkin stories in class.

Skills this week:

  • reading words with th at the beginning and ending (bath, third)
  • ABC order
  • Identifying the characters, setting, main idea and details in a story
  • Proper nouns and common nouns

The students will not have a spelling and sight word test this week.

This week we will begin a new math chapter. The students will begin learning new addition strategies to add to 20. We will learn to 'count on' and use a number line to 'count on'.


This week we will continue our science unit on force and motion. We will work on the position of objects and forces that push and pull.
