Executors Role is No Small Job
The role of an executor is to quarterback the assets of the deceased and it’s no small job, says Toronto lawyer, Lisa Laredo.
But there is a prescribed process to follow to fulfil that obligation and ensuring the executor is prepared for the task ahead is as important as making the decision on who to appoint to that role, says Laredo, principal of Laredo Law.
“Make sure the testator tells you that you have been chosen to act for the estate. Being an executor is almost like having a new full-time job. There are banks to attend to; lawyers and accountants that need to be met with and a lot of running around to do,” she says.

The Life Crimes and Hard Times of Ricky Atkinson, Leader of the Dirty Tricks Gang: A True Story
A sober memoir that provides a solid understanding of how crime is situated in structural, cultural, historical, and situational contexts. This is the life story of Ricky Atkinson, leader of the Dirty Tricks Gang, who grew up fast and hard in one of Toronto’s toughest neighborhoods during the social ferment of the Sixties, during the fledgling Black Power Movement in Canada. His life was made all the more difficult coming from a black, white and aboriginal mixed family. Under his leadership, the gang eventually robbed more banks and pulled off so many jobs, that it is unrivaled in Canadian history. Follow him from the mean streets to backroom plotting, to jail and back again as he learns the hard lessons of leadership, courage and betrayal. Today, after reconciling his past and life, he works to educate youth and people from all backgrounds about the no-win choice of being a criminal.

What to Keep and What to Toss?
Asking These 15 Questions Can Make Decluttering Easier
I recently moved to a new state and a new home. Moves like that are always exciting/scary/full of unknowns, but the one thing you can always count on is that you will be overwhelmed by how much stuff you have.
It never fails: I begin packing a room and I’ve only just begun when I find things I forgot I owned and clearly have no need for. You would think that means I just throw them in the trash, right? Wrong. I have a terrible habit of associating memories and nostalgia onto the cluttering objects in my home, and before I know it, I’m out of boxes because I can’t let anything go!

5 Vegetable Oils you Should Stop Using
Grape Seed Oil: Overdose of omega-6, is inflammatory and has processed substances like hexane. Canola Oil: Over 87% is genetically modified and contains erucic acid. Vegetable Oil: High on phytic acid and trypsin which blocks vitamin digestion. Vegan Butter Substitutes are a mix of canola and soybean oil. Corn Oil: Again genetically modified and inflammatory.
The consumption of processed seed and vegetable oils like soybean oil, sunflower oil, canola oil has increased dramatically in the past century. They were practically non-existent in our diets until the early 1900s. Unlike butter or coconut oil rich in Omega 3, these vegetable oils can’t be extracted just by pressing or separating naturally. Vegetable oils and margarine are over-recommended and referred to as ‘heart healthy oils’ and an alternative to butter, cheese and many other so called ‘artery clogging saturated fats.’
Recent research has however shown that vegetable oils may not be all that good as recommended and may cause more harm than good to your body.
