Lovejoy Orchestra Newsletter

January 26, 2017

Parents,

UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest is THIS SATURDAY. This contest is at Rockwall High School (901 W. Yellow Jacket Lane Rockwall, TX 75087). Students will enter through the rear entrance of the school off of Kyle St. They must arrive no later than 30 minutes before their scheduled time. All students received information on what room and time they are performing last Friday. If you have any questions about this contest please email Mr. Sloan at joey_sloan@lovejoyisd.net.

All orchestra's are very busy preparing for our next performance. As a reminder, ALL students are to have their own tuner to use in class DAILY. See below for more information on what tuners work best for each instrument and how to purchase one.

The Philharmonic Orchestra will perform next on February 27th at our Winter Concert. This concert will be much shorter than normal because all UIL groups will be performing in a separate performance on a different night. This concert starts at 6:30 p.m. in the LHS Auditorium. Philharmonic Orchestra will need to arrive at 6:30 p.m. in the orchestra room wearing their formal uniform.

Symphonic and Chamber Orchestra's have 2 performances coming up. The first is our Pre-UIL Concert which will be here in the auditorium at LHS starting at 6:30 on Thursday, Febrary 16th. We will have judges here to help us better prepare for our contest. Their next performance will be on March 1-2 for UIL at the Allen HS PAC. The UIL times will not be available until about 1-2 weeks before. We will email out these times as soon as we get them!

If you have any questions please let us know!

Lovejoy Orchestra Tour to Washington D.C. April 20-23, 2017

Hello LHS Orchestra Family,

The online payment system for the Orchestra Spring Trip is finally available. I know that most everyone sent checks for the first payment, however you may still use the online system for future payments.

Below are the instructions on how to access it. It is a little clumsy since it is also attached to our Charms accounts.

Here is the Link:

https://lovejoy.revtrak.net/tek9.asp?pg=LHS_FineArts

When the link opens click on the Washington D.C. Orchestra Trip button.

In the next window (Charms parent/member/student area)

Enter lovejoyorch in the school code field.

In the next window enter your student's charms password. It should be their student ID ( unless you have changed it)

The next window ask for you to change your password, you do not have to change it. Click on the $ tap at the top of the window and it will take you to the Student Financial Statement window.

In the Student Financial Statement window you will click on the select trip drop down menu and select Washington DC. Click on make payment

In the next window you will enter the amount of the payment you wish to make and click on start payment.

The next window will show the amount of the payment and the trip for which it will be made. Click on go to checkout and follow the instructions to make payment.

Please let me know if you have any difficulties with this process.
