10 economical tips to get you trough collage

1) Make financial goals and figure out how much money you will need to save
This is very important because you don't want to be halfway through collage and run out of money. You need to know how much you will need for basic expenses, out of pocket tuition, books, Etc. Also know how much you plan to take out for student loans and decide if it is worth it.
2) Pursuit Financial aid/scholarships
Always try to push for financial aid and scholarships. know what possible financial aid packages you may qualify for. And even though you may not qualify right away, keep pushing because in the long run, it will help
3) Understand your student loans
Know how much money you are borrowing and be prepared to pay it all back. Know how long it will take you to pay off your student loans and always choose a loan with a low interest way
4) Make collage your first priority
If you are playing sports or plan on working, make sure that your education comes first because it will most likely benefit you the most down the road. even though making money in collage can help pay for expenses, it can be distracting and you don't want it to hurt your grades.
5) Look for jobs on campus
Jobs on campus tend to be more flexible and you can manage your time so you can achieve better grades. Making a little money in between classes can take some of the financial burden off of your shoulders.
6) Do an internship in your field of study
This is very important, by doing an internship you can get ahead in your field and get real life experience. This will help you get a job right out of collage.
7) Separate needs from wants
Don't become a shopoholic in collage, you may have a lot of freedom but you don't want any more debt then you already have. Always try not to spend money that you don't have to spend. It is ok to treat yourself every once in a while.
8) If car expenses become to much, get ride of your car
Chances are transportation without a car would not be an issue in collage, everything you need is on campus. Selling your car and investing in a bike can make a huge difference. You will make some quick money on your car and in the long run you will save lots of money on car insurance because you won't be paying for it.
9) Create a budget and stick to it
stick to a strict budget until you are out of collage with a stable job. It is important that you know how much you are spending.
10) Money is important but is not everything.
Make sure that you are making and keeping friends from collage and don't be too concerned about money. It is ok to go out with friends on the weekend and spend a little money. It is harder to make good friends once you are out of collage.
