BHMS Principal's Update 5/22/22
Spring Events
Keeping Up with What is Going on at the Hill!!!
Bunker Hill is very cognizant of the sacrifices that our military makes on a continual basis both at home and abroad. Certainly on Memorial Day we have the opportunity to get together, have barbeques, go to the beach or pools. However, we have to remember the lives of those fallen heroes who have all in protection and security of this country. For those Bulldog Families that have connections to the military, we keep your loved ones in our thoughts that they may remain safe in all they do.
On a school note, we have some activities coming down the pike. This week, state testing is over, but there are some students who need to do make ups for the state test. Also, we have COVID-19 Updates for the first time in a long time; we have 8th grade recognition information, and end of year information.
Lastly, a congratulations is in order to the music students on their awesome performances (Superior and 2 Excellent Ratings) in Allentown, PA. The students' celebration at Dorney was cut short unfortunately due to bad storms. We were told that prior to leaving, that the students' tickets would be honored again as long as they had their ticket to present. Please check the Dorney Website and guest services for more information. Students were reminded to safe their ticket.
We hope that you have a restful and healthy and reflective Memorial Day Weekend
Happy Spring, Bulldog families!!!
Sincerely,
Mike D'Ostilio

For 8th Graders and Their Families
- This will be in the back lot, so parents should park in the front and walk to the back.
- Bunker Hill 8th Graders will be expected to be at BHMS at the regular time for the start of school 7:45 am.
- We can accommodate 4 family members per student. However, families should bring their own chairs. Families can begin setting up their chairs at 8:30 AM
- The ceremony will run approximately 1 hour. Students will be expected to return back to class for 8th grade festivities for the remainder of the day
- This is not a graduation ceremony but a recognition ceremony. Therefore, students can walk and participate as an 8th grade. However, if a student has not earned passing marks in at least 6 out of the 7 classes, that student has not met promotion requirements to the 9th grade. Therefore a certificate of recognition cannot be given. However, successful completion of summer school and meeting with the principal will be necessary prior to the event.
Very important...8th grade Bulldogs should make sure all their grades are solidified. This means talking with teachers, staying after to make up work, and retaking tests based on the parameters and timelines. Parents/Guardians, please monitor your child's Schoology Pages to keep tabs on your child's grades.
More formal letters will be coming shortly regarding end of the year festivities for 8th graders.

Students Must Carry IDs with Them Throughout the School Day.
This procedure promotes safety and the preservation of instructional time for the students. This allows to keep track of students, how long they are out of class, and the frequency by which they are out of class. This new program allows us to sort using an excel spreadsheet and then address only those individuals who are frequently out of the classroom.
