Elementary Principal
Josh Noteboom
In the Spring of 2018, BGV Trustees voted (4-1) to approve the hiring of an Elementary Principal for the 2018/19 school year. This hiring was approved in order to allow Superintendent Cantrell to focus on long-term District goals while continuing to serve as the District's Special Services Director.
The BGV Hiring Committee received nearly 25 applications for the position and interviewed roughly 15 qualified candidates over the course of 2 months. Of those 15 candidates, Mr. Josh Noteboom is the Committee's clear and confident recommendation for hire (Board pending) as BGV's new Elementary Principal.
Mr. Noteboom comes to us with 5 years of elementary teaching experience and 5 years experience in elementary school leadership (vice principal). More importantly, the BGV Hiring Committee believes that Mr. Noteboom embodies the beliefs, values and expectations of District leadership and is ready to help us continue our forward progress.
Mr. Noteboom was born in Nampa, Idaho to Pete and Kerri Noteboom. His father, Pete, is a long-time high school teacher and administrator in the Kuna School District. Mr. Noteboom attended elementary school in the Nampa School District through 6th grade, when his family moved to Kuna. He finished school in Kuna and graduated from Kuna High School.
After high school, Mr. Noteboom attended Northwest Nazarene University to pursue a bachelor of arts in Elementary Education. In his last year at NNU he had the first of two children, Jenna. Later the next year, he had Cole. Mr. Noteboom taught a summer of preschool in McCall, ID and then returned to the Kuna School District to teach 2nd grade and later 5th grade.
In 2013 Mr. Noteboom started his Masters of Education at NNU to study Educational Leadership. He took a Vice Principal position in Kuna at Hubbard and Teed Elementary. 5 years later, Mr. Noteboom has accepted the opportunity to come to Bruneau - Grand View Elementary Schools as our Principal at Grand View & Bruneau Elementary.
Mr. Noteboom's interests outside of school include coaching high school cross country and track, running and racing. Hunting, hiking, and camping are common pastimes for his family. Additionally, he loves to learn and share his learning with others. He can often be found with a cup of coffee and a book in his hand.
Mr. Cantrell will be providing Mr. Noteboom with on-the-job training this fall, as Mr. Cantrell transitions the Elementary Principal roles over to Mr. Noteboom during the course of this summer & fall.
