Climate/Culture & Belonging Surveys
Last week all guardians received an invitation to participate in providing feedback to your building principal and school teams on how we are doing in creating a positive school climate and feeling of welcome and belonging for our students and families. The surveys take less than 3 minutes to complete. We value your voice!
Please check your email for your invitation to participate. Our surveys will close on Sunday, October 10, 2021.

News from Nurse Shawn
Hello families!
Per district policy and state laws, all children must be current in their immunization records for them to attend school (or have a valid exemption on file). If you need to report any updated immunizations to the nurse, please email lwnurse@tahomasd.us.
Beginning next week, families will be contacted for those students who are out of compliance. Failure to respond may result in your student being excluded from school until vaccinations are current.
Thank you for your partnership in advance!
PTSA Spirit Wear Still Available until Monday, Oct 18
You may not know that students will often wear Wildcat Gear and colors on Tuesdays, as one of our school traditions.
PTSA Reflections Information
Reflections Overview For Families and Students
Welcome to the WSPTA Reflections program!
Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life.
Students in pre-K through grade 12 create original works of art in response to a theme. The theme for the 2021-2022 program year is I Will Change The World By… Students submit their completed works of art in one, or all, of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
While the primary focus of Reflections is a celebration of creativity through positive recognition, finalists from local PTAs will move on to their council PTA (if applicable), then finalists from councils will move on to the state round. Washington State PTA finalists who receive an “Outstanding Interpretation” award will advance to the National PTA round. National PTA Reflections awards for 2020-2021 can be found here.
Young artists get involved by contacting their local PTA leaders. The deadline for turning in artwork to our PTSA is Friday, October 29.
PTSA Trunk or Treat - October 30
This year instead of the traditional Harvest Party, our amazing PTSA will host a Trunk or Treat on October 30 from 1-4pm. They are asking for volunteers to sign up their vehicles HERE. Please note, candy will be provided to hand out.
Reminder - there will be a candy drive happening the week of October 18-22. The class with the most candy (by weight) will win a special treat and a chance to visit the Trunk or Treat event twice!
Fliers are either coming home today or early next week so please be on the look out.
Lost and Found Information
Dear Wildcats,
If your student has lost an item, the Lost and Found is now available to access after school when the students are gone Monday-Thursday between 3:20-4:00. Please check in at the Main Office and we can direct you to the Lost/Found Closet.
Our closets are starting to get full. One way to avoid that is putting your student(s) name on their clothing so our staff can deliver them when found.
