Week of Monday, December 5 - Friday, December 9
Dear PACS Community,
Our school is blooming with learning, friendships, and positive energy! This time of year brings opportunities for community connections, celebrations, and ways to give back to others. Thank you to those who are helping to organize and support some of our great Winter festivities that are coming up, from our Winter Festival to our Family Giving Program.
Kindly,
Gina Roberts

Holiday Giving Program
Every year, our community at McKinley comes together to lend a helping hand to our families that could use some extra help or support during the holiday season.
All McKinley/PACS families are invited to stop by the Holiday Giving Board and pick a tag for an item that one of our sponsored families wishes to receive during the holidays. The holiday board will be out starting Monday, December 5th; before and after school. There will be many tags available, and all gifts are due back by Monday, December 12th at the office. All gifts must be wrapped and the original tag must be attached.
Please sign up to help supervise the board here.

Redwood Empire Food Bank
Please see the information below from one of our PACS students:
My name is Daniella Skye and I am a seventh grader here at McKinley/PACS. Recently, I have done some volunteer work at Redwood Empire Food Bank. I did a school wide food drive last year, and we collected 540 pounds of food! This year, I want to continue this food drive and get even more food!
I placed barrels from the Food Bank in the breezeway near the office. It would be great if you could donate some food there! It will start on Monday, 12/5, and end on December 21st so if you are going to donate, please do it before December 21st!! After that, we will drive the food up to the Food Bank. They accept canned foods and foods that won’t go stale quickly, like boxed items, and no glass! Thank you so much!
Costume Donations for Shrek The Musical Jr.
Do you have a super cute witch costume that your little witch grew out of that you would like to give a new life onstage? Wanted to take up the hobby of sewing during the lockdown but now have a great sewing machine that you never use? Half-filled cans of paint that you would like us to take off your hands? Are you a fabric hoarder who would like to donate a sparkly, scary, or sweet part of your stash? Take a look and sign up for anything you are looking to donate or clear out of your space.
Click here to see what items are needed. Please drop off all donations at the McKinley office.
Trex Plastic Bag and Film Recycling Challenge
McKinley & PACS will participate in the Trex plastic bag and film recycling challenge starting on December 6th. The school will be competing against other schools across the country to see if we can recycle the most plastic bags and plastic film. The winning school will receive a new Trex bench! From December 6th - April 15th (Earth Day), there will be bins at both entrances of the school for you to recycle your plastic bags and film.
Please know that this is only for plastic bags and plastic film items. Signage of what is accepted and not accepted will be noted on the collection bins.
Click the link to understand what is an acceptable item to include in the collection bin.
