The Serene Scoop
Serene Hills Elementary School --- Nov. 11, 2022
Message from the Principal:
Thank you to everyone that sent in Veterans Day pages for our wall. It's so wonderful to walk the hallway and remember and honor all those that served and fought for us to live in our amazing country. To all our SHE community members that have sacrificed for us, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Our lost and found has been moved into the foyer for the time being for easier access to parents. Please take a moment to comb through it and gather any of your students' lost belongings. If you choose to do this at drop-off and pick-up time, please park in the lot and come in. Do not park in the car rider line and come in to browse.
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming! Please set up your e-wallet HERE.
I hope you all have a great weekend with your families.
Warmly,
Keegan Luedecke
SHE Principal

Next Week in Second Step:
Getting along with others helps make our school a happier place. To get along with others, we need to have empathy for each other. Empathy is feeling or understanding what someone else is feeling. This week, be a feelings detective! Try to notice how your classmates are feeling throughout the week. Watch their faces and bodies for clues!
Dinner Table Conversation Starters:
- Do you feel like you could talk with me about anything at all?
- What would you be most likely to want to lie to me about? Why?
- If you got into really big trouble, how do you think I would respond?
- Is there something I can do better as your parent that I am not doing now?
- If we had a special day together what would you want to do?

Gymnastics in PE
Coach Z wants to send out a HUGE thank you to all the parents that showed up in PE this week to help with our gymnastics unit. Especially Mr. Kizewski, Serene's very own handy man! Mr. Kizewski stepped in to help secure our bars and beams. He came back the next day with more tools to fix our cargo net after a break, saving us the thousands of dollars it would have been to replace. AND he stayed for numerous PE classes to help out with the kiddos. Our students have loved the gymnastics unit this year more than ever thanks to the new beam, bars, and tumble track wheels PTO helped us fund!

ACE Babysitter's Club Request
Dear Parents,
The Serene Hills A.C.E. (Across Campus Enrichment) Babysitter’s group is off to a fantastic start. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are learning how to care for babies, toddlers, and younger children. We have covered how to keep kids safe, first aid, CPR, feeding, diapering, holding, handling emergency situations, helping kids behave, and how to play/entertain different ages of little ones.
Our babysitter’s are eager and ready for some real life experiences. We would like to use our last meeting on December 2nd from 7:45-8:30 to babysit some of our school community’s littlest kiddos. Do you have a baby or toddler (4 months-4yrs old) that you would let them love on? Coach Z and Mrs. Hursh will be present the entire time. It is our hope that our students will be in groups of 2-4 with one little one to watch over. You could drop them off and go for a walk, find a quiet nook to have coffee, or offer a lending hand to another group.
We promise to offer a safe and loving environment for your little one. If you are willing to share your cutie pie please email Coach Z at zibilskid@ltisdschools.org and include the info below.
