Parent Memo
Week of January 9th
Message from Mrs. Yost
Thank you families for participating in our Eat the Rainbow healthy habits last week. We hope this helped to introduce some new fruits and vegetables for our family. As shared in January's newsletter, we start our winter assessments this week with STAR and iReady. We are looking forward to seeing the academic growth form our Cougars. They have been working diligently in skills based small groups and on their individualized computer-based programs. These assessments with give us vital information to set targets for the rest fo the year. Your support and guidance is important to set the day off right. Please see the Testing Tips for Parents below.
Just a reminder that Zion Joseph, a junior at Mark T Sheehan High School, is partnering with Cook Hill School for his Capstone Project. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our students and one of our Sheehan High School students.
See the attached flyer below for more information.

NEW! Cook Hill Cougars are Bucket Fillers
Hello Cook Hill Families,
In an effort to promote and foster kindness at Cook Hill School, last week every class had a guest reader sharing the book, Have You Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud. We learned that everyone has an invisible bucket that "holds your good thoughts and good feelings about yourself." Students learned that we have Bucket Fillers and Bucket Dippers.
We at Cook Hill School strive to be Bucket Fillers by showing love, doing and saying kind things, and even smiling at each other. When we see Bucket Filling behaviors, staff will be handing out PROUD Cougar tickets. Each student that is caught Bucket Filling will be given two tickets, 1 for the Fridge and 1 for our school Bucket, a bulletin board that we hope to fill with PROUD Cougar names by the end of the year. Tickets will begin coming home next week.
Bucket Dipping is when someone dips into our buckets and takes some of those good feelings away by doing unkind or mean things.
To find out more, you can watch a read aloud of the book, at the link below.
Happy Bucket Filling to all!!!
Mr. Troiano
