Spring Band Concert This Sunday
Highlights of the concert will include music from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and a special piece, "A Friend Remembered," in memory of Sam Terry.
Free Athletic Physicals Offered Sunday
On Sun., May 1, from 1-3 pm, Wellness Walk-in Clinic will be conducting free athletic physicals for student-athletes who will be in grades 7-12 next year. Students should fill out a form for this physical (available on the ahsaa.com website) before arriving. The student and a parent are required to sign the form. You can also download, print, read, and sign forms for concussion and participation from this same source. We will not plan other dates for free physicals. Physicals will take place in the football field house.
NJHS Raises Money for AGAPE
Last August the National Junior Honor Society chose AGAPE of North Alabama to be the recipient of their annual community service project. They set a goal and had monthly bake sales to raise money for the charity. This week, John Medley, NJHS president, presented a check for $1230 an AGAPE representative. Eighth grade members who supported this effort were Lauren Allen, Gracie Barrier, Lindsay Brackin, Simone Brand, Mary Choate, Lucy Clark, Victoria Cochran, Garrett Cox, Liliana Derr, Julia Garrett, Bo Gooch, Hannah Henry, Elijah Hester, Claire Lawson, Cameron Mann, Mack McCluskey, Erika Mitchell, Emily O’Kelley, Lilly Olive, Eli Owens, Abbey Steadman, Kylie Thigpen, Walker White, Anthony Wilbanks, and Averee Williamson.

Facing the Giants
Middle school students are enjoying their annual Life Day today in Tuscumbia. Alumnus Josh Willingham is this year's speaker, and the theme is "Facing the Giants."
Athletic Banquet Set
We will be having the annual athletic banquet for baseball, basketball, and boys’ soccer Mon., May 9, at 6:30 pm at Cross Point Church of Christ. The meal, catered by Texas Roadhouse, will be at no cost to our athletes and coaches. Parents, siblings, and friends will cost $10 per plate. Please call the office to put your name on the list by May 3.
Pope Makes MH HIstory; Golf Advances
Congratulations to sophomore Hannah Pope who was the medalist in Monday's Class 1A – 3A Girls Section 4 Golf Tournament at Decatur Country Club. Hannah shot a one over par 73 to be the first ever Mars Hill girl to be a Sectional Champion. Hannah will compete Monday, May 2 in the sub-state round at Gadsden country Club. The top two individuals from the sub-state will advance to the State Tournament at Hampton Cove in Huntsville on May 9-10.
The Mars Hill boys' golf team advanced to the sub-state round of the state playoffs after finishing in 2nd place last Monday in the Class 1A-2A Sectional tournament played at Southern Gayles in Athens. Ike Alexander led the Panthers with a 74 and John Moody followed with a 75. The Panthers shot a season best team total of 326. The Panthers will play Monday, May 2 at Decatur Country Club. The top two teams and top two individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the State Tournament May 9-10 at Hampton Cove in Huntsville. The team members are seniors Colton Darby, Chase Thigpen, Kenneth Hibbett, John Moody and juniors Nolan Adderholt, Ike Alexander, Tanner Boyd and Mason Jones.
