Helpers in Our Community
This Week
During speech rotations, we worked on identifying a variety of community helpers (e.g., doctor, firefighter, mailman) as well as the places they work. We also learned about other places in our community, such as the beach and the pet store, and things we could see at each of these places (e.g., beach - boats, sand castles, surfboards, etc.).
For A.P.E., we played builders and bulldozers again. We are getting really good at this game and knowing when to pick up or knock down the cones. During outside play, Ms. Brianna led a firefighter obstacle course! To get to the burning building on the other side of the playground, we walked across a wobbly ladder, went through a small house, stepped on colored stepping stones to avoid the hot ground, and walked across the balance beam. Then we used a pool noodle as a hose to put out the "fire." Made it just in time!
We celebrated Lincoln's birthday this week! He brought us all big bubble wands that we played with in the classroom and got to take home. Thanks Lincoln!
