Ebinport Attendance Procedures
1. Kim Brown will run an attendance report every Friday. She will complete her excel spreadsheet recording any students with 3 or more unexcused absences and will update any changes from the prior week. At 5 unlawful full day absences each student will be coded in PowerSchool IM with a 151 Discipline. (Code. 152 and 153 is coded at the DO if necessary)
2. Kim Brown will send the excel spreadsheet out in an email each Monday with 5 or more unexcused absences to gain any other information the teachers or staff have on the students. If she does not hear from any teachers or staff, she will assume they do not have any additional information on the students’ absences. If she does get any new information, she will update the excel spreadsheet and or Powerschool and send it back out to Rhonda Kelsey, Brian Hollingsworth, Rhonda Cranford, and Lou Ellen Holliday.
3. Brian Hollingsworth will contact parents of students with 5 or more unexcused absences to set up parent attendance conferences. He will invite Mary Ellen Holliday and the child’s teacher to attend the conference. If the parent has not responded after 2 attempts, at least one being by phone, the attendance conference will be held with others in attendance. All attempts to the parents will be recorded in the log entries of PowerSchool. Paperwork will be signed by all and mailed home to assure the parent knows of the importance of their child’s attendance at school.
4. Kim Brown will put the documentation of the attendance plan meeting into PowerSchool and follow up information if the student continues to miss school unlawfully after the SAIP is completed.
5. It is important that at all phases of contact regarding excessive absences be entered into PowerSchool in the log entries section.
Please remember to have students use the restroom prior to going to related arts.
Please have students to related arts on time.
