What was the change ?
Reformation was the change in the Catholic Church , which lead to the founding of new Christian Churches . Harsh criticism of the Church of Rome led by the pope resulted in alot of reformational rushes and the formation of several Protestant church reformations. The critical views of the religious sphere deeply effected the spiritual, social, and cultural , as well as upon the political .
Who were the people associated with the change ?
Martian Luther was a German monk . He Created the 95 thesis and posted it on the Doors of the castle church. Because of the printing presses , his words were printed and throughout Germany. this was know as the reformation. People who agreed with Martin Luther teachings were called " Lutherans ". People supported because they believed his ideas would lead to changes in the society .
King Henry VIII
Henry was married to a Spanish Queen , Katherine of Aragon. She gave birth to a daughter , but king Henry a son .He believe she was to old to have anymore children . He asked the pope to annul the marriage so he could remarry , but the the pope annul his request .Henry had to get out of the Catholic church. In 1534 , Henry had Parliament pass the Act of Supremacy , which made him head of both the churches in England and the country . Henry No longer Had to obey the pope ,so he remarried 5 times. he only had 1 son from his 3rd wife , he was disabled . Henry first daughter Elizabeth became Queen in 1558.
The religion based on the teachings of Calvin was known as Calvinism .Calvin wrote a book that taught people are sinful by Native. He taught Predestination the idea that god has already chosen who will be saved .
