Hornets Weekly Update
Preparing and Educating for Success! 2/7/20
Week #5 2nd Semester
SNOW, SNOW, SNOW----GO AWAY SNOW!!!
I know it is stressful figuring out how to make up the information you've missed teaching due to snow days, but please continue working with your students on adapting your lessons, due dates and assessments to insure that you and the students are not over-loaded.
-February is Black History Month and Heart Awareness Month. Please share activities and lessons that you will be using to support these themes. We will be sharing information soon with a Heart Awareness Spirit week February 24-28.
-We've placed a Proposition S "Dos & Don't" sheet in your mailbox. Please read and follow these expectations when discussing this topic with family, friends and community members.
- Kim Sessler will be recognized that the BOE meeting next week, please show your support.
-We will have the Freshmen parent informational meeting next Wednesday 2/12 @ 6pm , in the Commons, before the BOE meeting. Feel free to attend, especially if you teach Freshmen.
-Be sure you have the e-Hall Pass site bookmarked, do no share your code with students, students can only access it on their chrome books, not their phones, Counseling is not an option for them because they need to complete the referral form.
- PDP Summatives for new/non-tenured/on cycle teachers are due February 24th. I'll be contacting these individuals to set-up their meeting for their summative review.
-Tenured teachers, not on their review cycle, will turn in their PDP plans by April 20th and I will set-up meetings for summatives soon after that date.
-Remember to submit your data cycle information and weekly data teaming meeting minutes to the weebly page.
-Academic week is March 9-13. Remember that all faculty is required to attend the banquet on Monday evening (catered meal). Also be aware of weekly activities as this will effect your planning.
-Anne and Marena will be out several days this month because they will be visiting classrooms for student enrollment.
-I will be putting the list of students w/ Fs in your class in your mailboxes by the end of the day. Please make a plan with that student, at the beginning of the week, and reach out to their parents for their support.
-Remember to use the old sisk for submitting referrals. This has definitely mainstreamed our process, thank you!
SHOUT OUT!: Everybody for all of the rescheduling and re-planning with the snow days!!
Remember that YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!!
Kati
