The Mortgage Stress Test May Get More Reasonable
Here’s some good news for people who’ve been blocked from qualifying for a mortgage due to the government’s “stress test.”
Canada’s banking regulator (OSFI) is taking a second look at the mortgage stress test calculation, which requires borrowers who are not default insured to prove they can afford a monthly payment at the greater of:
(A) Their actual mortgage rate plus two percentage points, or
(B) The typical Big Bank posted 5-year fixed rate (a.k.a., the “benchmark rate”).

There are fully grown adults who suffer through vegetables on a daily basis, but save their delight for when their mouth meets a heavenly piece of beef. For those adults, the steakhouse was created. Toronto has many steakhouses that have an old-world charm with a gentleman's club vibe (with ladies certainly welcome these days). We have found the best restaurants with the ability to sear a steak to perfection. Some of them are a little dated in terms of decor, but that's in part what makes them so appealing.
All You Can Eataly
After years of anticipation, Eataly opened its first location in Canada in November, in the heart of the Mink Mile. It’s 50,000 square feet of edible Italian excess, combining three sit-down restaurants (a fourth is on the way) with a slew of gourmet grab-and-go stations, bakery counters, bars and even a fully operational brewery—not to mention thousands of off-the-shelf goods and a cooking school. It’s as much a cultural force as a culinary one: despite Toronto’s great selection of Italian restaurants and purveyors, the masses flocked to Eataly like it was opening day at Canada’s Wonderland. To compile this Eataly hit list, we braved the early throngs and immersed ourselves in just about everything the place has to offer. Here are our suggestions for how to make the most of it all.

https://trnto.com/new-toronto-restaurants-february-2020/4 reasons why your home isn’t selling, and how to fix them
If you thought selling a home was as easy as plonking a ‘for sale’ sign on the lawn and waiting by the phone, think again.
In many competitive real estate markets across the country, it’s no secret that sellers have had the upper hand for a while — multiple offer scenarios, properties selling in less than a day, and bully offers have become more common than not. But just because you have a property to sell doesn’t necessarily mean you should expect a flood of buyers knocking down your door.

This Is What The New TTC Subway Map Will Look Like In 2021
Finally, the TTC subway map will soon at least somewhat resemble an acceptable transit map for a big metropolis like Toronto.
Though our transit network will never rival the impressive colourful webs of London, Tokyo or New York, it is finally expanding in a big way thanks to the Eglinton Crosstown LRT project.
One resident has re-posted the TTC's rendering of what the subway map is going to look like in September 2021, after the new line is complete.
