DLT Holds March Meeting
On March 4, our DLT held their fifth meeting of the 2020-21 school year. Below are key highlights from the meeting:
The team reviewed data from the latest ACL Implementation Review process. Also, the team will take the following clarifications back to BLTs and TBTs:
- Review Part 1.2 of the ACL Profile, which is expressing Learning Targets with Multiple Means of Representation.
- Discuss the following resource: https://udlguidelines.cast.org/representation, which offers guidelines and examples for sharing with Multiple Means.
- Teachers will share strategies they could potentially use to express Learning Targets and Success beyond audio and visual representations.
Our next DLT meeting is April 21st.

Celina K-12 Literacy Program Details for 20-21 and Beyond
- Amplify - Our Celina Literacy Leadership Team selected Amplify (CKLA for K-5 and ELA for 6-8) materials for our K-8 staff who teach English/Language Arts. The materials will arrive in May. Professional Development will be offered before the 20-21 school year ends and before and during 21-22 and beyond years. The professional development provided centers on using the materials. - LETRS Training - This literacy theory (Science of Reading) training will be provided to all K-8 staff (and select CHS staff) who teach English/Language Arts and those directed by their building principals. LETRS training centers around how children learn to read and offering support to readers of all ability levels. This program lasts two years and will begin in August 2021.
- Literacy Coaches - Coaches will be available to help plan, implement, model, and monitor progress of our literacy initiatives. Coaches will provide literacy professional development to staff and receive ongoing support on effective coaching strategies. These positions will be available starting with the 21-22 school year.

The purpose of the page is to provide Celina teachers and the school community with information and resources to implement our district strategy and provide high-quality instructional practices that challenge, prepare, and empower our students.

- Check out the OTES 2.0 Q & A document developed for teachers. This document was developed by Mercer County ESC and offers answers to questions posed by local teachers.
- ODE is still hosting Virtual Meet-ups for all content area teachers. Check out their Resources page for dates, times, and additional information.
