Mobilization
To assemble or prepare for war
The Draft
Although many Americans were signing up to enlist in the war, it was clear that a draft would be needed to raise the type of force that America needed. The draft stated that all men between the ages of 21 and 30 must sign up for military services. Within months, 10 million men had signed up across the nation.
Food Administration
Led by Hoover, this organization encouraged Americans to conserve food.
Liberty Bonds
These were a type of propaganda used by the government to raise money for the war effort.
CPI
Committee on Public Information: main purpose was to educate Americans of why the US was at war and get them involved.
Mobilization in Industry
Women in Industry
Because the men had been drafted to war, the women were left to take care of things back home. This included taking on roles that men would normal acquire such as working in factories. Many factories had switched to making ammunition and war related products and these items were now assembled by women.
