Elevated Moms Newsletter
August 2014
Welcome to August and our New Format!
We are excited to test out a new Newsletter format! We hope you love it!!
I can't think of August and not think of back to school. For some of you, school is a good thing! For others of you, you may have children entering Kindergarten for the first time and it's terrifying and exciting at the same time. You wonder who will cry first, or will anyone cry? You think of all the negative scenarios that could happen that first day of school and beyond. I know it's not a close comparison but Zoey starts preschool in the fall for the first time. it's only two days a week but I am having moments of questioning if I'm going to be okay. Maybe your child is not school-aged yet either but there is a change in schedule, sitter or location. If you do have a child or children school-aged, there's guaranteed changes; class, teacher, friends, etc. Whatever August brings, it's coming as a season of change for almost all of us. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us "Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses." (GNB). Let's remember God's got this and whatever our situation may be, we can go to Him with confidence and ask for His protection over our children and wisdom for the upcoming changes. Hang in there Mama! God loves you and so do I!

Mommy Moment
Ever since I can remember, I've always wanted to be a MOM. A long time ago I had made great resolutions before our children were born. Some were vague, if heartfelt: I’ll take good care of you, I’ll keep you safe, and I’ll never scream/yell or hit you… Some were more specific. Shortly before I was pregnant with our oldest, Logan, I was an HR Manager working over 40 hrs a week and having the “business world” depend on me intellectually… It was a momentous turning point following the birth of our son and then later our beautiful princess; being a stay-at-home MOM, I never imagined how hard, challenging, stressful and tears of joy and over-whelming it would all be. Some days never seem to end, and the monotony of being “needed” can really take its toll. Then, it all started to hit me, they need ME. Not anybody else. Not a single other person in the whole world. They need their Mommy and I am truly privileged and honored. Mommy means I just put Rhena down for the night when my 3-year-old wakes because the thunder scared him and he’s now nestled between my husband and me. Mommy means I am surviving on chai tea and gold fish or PB&J leftovers. Mommy means my husband and I haven’t had an adult conversation in weeks. Mommy means I put their needs before my own, without a thought. Mommy means that my body is full of aches, but my heart will forever be full of love. I continue to ask GOD to empower me to be more like GOD; a great wife, friend and a GODLY MOM and raise strong, courageous children of GOD who one day will HELP fill “the whole in this World”.

Mom Friends~
I want to remind you that God has called YOU to follow Him. He wants our deepest joy and our highest priority to be daily alone time with Him. We live in a world that glorifies busyness. Don't get caught up in summer 'life' so much that you forget to talk and pray with our sweet Jesus. He loves YOU, He has a perfect plan for YOU, He is always there, available for YOU, wanting to BLESS YOU. In the busy moments, in the hard moments, in the joys and the sorrows, He is there. All we have to do is call on His mighty and powerful name, and He will answer. Take time today, and every day to talk with Jesus.
Love,
Theanna
