Over the hump
Better than 50
I feel like every time I go to the NWEA site I learn something new. I feel like every time we talk about MAP I learn something new. As much as we continue to learn, I still believe with all of my heart that this is good data to show us where our students are and how far we are going to take them. When I look at our MAP scores from this fall administration I am extremely excited and hopeful. With a year under our belt we are learning how to best use this data to truly support our students. We had great conversations on Thursday and I loved the fact that when I talked with everyone about how the norm is just the 50th percentile and we need to shoot for more than that, it wasn't greeted with sighs and thoughts of "here we go, now he wants even more"! It was met with understanding and acceptance of the challenge! That is why I love working alongside each and every one of you, you are ready for a challenge and prepared to meet it head on! The biggest question we had coming out of Thursday was what do we do now? Now we take the information we have and use it to individualize our instruction for every student. We use the learning continuum, paired with our other resources, and we create engaging, exciting Tier 1 instruction for every student that walks through our doors. It's that easy right?!?! All jokes aside I cannot wait to see and hear about the gains our students make in January on the next MAP administration!
So much truth here, I said at least 3 times, "Ive said that before"
