Friday Sept. 15- Saturday Sept. 16- Good luck to our Saints JH Volleyball Team who will be competing in a tournament, right here in our own gym! GO SAINTS!
Thursday Sept. 21- Terry Fox Run. We'll all be participating in the annual Terry Fox School Run! We are so proud to be a part of this Canadian tradition in the fight against cancer. Please support our students' fundraising efforts by sending your "Toonie for Terry" this week, or online at: https://schools.terryfox.ca/StMarysCatholicSchoolSexsmith.
Families are welcome to join us for our walk/run. We will meet on the playground at 1:00pm to begin! Please ensure your child is prepared for time outside.
Friday Sept. 22 - PD Day, no school for students.
Thursday Sept. 28 - Junior High Option Fees for Term 1 are due.
Friday Sept. 29- Please wear ORANGE in honour of Orange Shirt Day.
Saturday Sept. 30- National Truth and Reconciliation Day. Whole school activity and Virtue Awards begin at 2:00pm
Tuesday Oct. 3- School Photo Day. Paquins will be in the school capturing our best likenesses!
Friday Oct. 6 - Thanksgiving Prayer Service hosted by grade 3.
Monday Oct. 9- Thanksgiving Day. No school for staff or students.

Annual Demographic Update Required
Dear Parents,
In the next weeks our District will be sending out important annual demographic update forms. These forms will be distributed via email through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. It is mandatory to complete these demographic updates each year, as they play a crucial role in ensuring we have the correct contact information in case of emergencies.
Please keep a close eye on your email inbox for these updates and, if you require any assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to our office. Your cooperation in completing the demographic update by September 30th is greatly appreciated.

Affordable Childcare Programming at St. Mary's through the Sexsmith Childcare Centre
We understand the importance of providing enriching experiences beyond regular school hours. We are so excited for students to access programming inside St. Mary's through the Sexsmith Child Development Centre.
In response to inquiries from our families, we would like to provide potential cost information. By participating in 100+ hours of Development Centre programming each month, families become eligible for the affordability grant and if qualified, subsidy provided by the Government of Alberta.
See below potential breakdowns of the costs, grants and subsidy:
Full Time care cost: $1060.00
Kindergarten out of school care: $954
Affordability Grant: $450
Actual cost to families: Full Time $610 Kindergarten: $504
Additional Income-based Funding:
Subsidy for families annual income $120,000 and under: $266
Actual cost to families: Full Time $344 Kindergarten: $238
Subsidy for families annual income $180,000 and under: $106-$266
Actual cost to families: Full Time $344-504 Kindergarten: $398-238
