We Are Well Underway!
Three weeks into the year and our students are doing great!
Lunch Crew
Each month we are asking for volunteers to help keep our cafeteria clean during and after lunches. This crew is responsible for helping pick up our floors and wipe tables. Students can earn hours for NJHS and will also earn a pizza each month they volunteer to be part of this crew. Students are learning responsibility and ownership of our space through this initiative. Our custodian, Mr. Gerry is loving having them on board to help keep our school clean!
6th Grade Middle Mania
Our 6th grade Middle Mania will be taking place Friday, October 4th here at ERMS. Our middle mania costs $15 and happens right after school from 2:30 to 4:00 and there are so many sweet things for them to do. This year, we will have inflatables, including Bungee Run, Gladiator Joust, and Obstacle Course. There will also be a photo booth with all kinds of props and photo strips are printed right then and there. In addition, you can play basketball/dodgeball in the open gym, while eating hot dogs and hanging with friends. Permission slips will be handed out in their magnets, please look for those coming home early next week.
7th and 8th Grade Dance
Dance…. Tomorrow…. Need we say more? What more do you need to see...Come check out Mr. Rottier perform the Electric Slide! No I’m not lying… Lyon….. like Mrs. Lyon who is a dynamic Roger Rabbit instructor? The concession stand will be open at the dance tomorrow. Come check all of this out this Friday from 2:35 to 4:00 for $5 at the door!
National Junior Honors Society-NJHS
8th grader students that were invited into the National Junior Honor Society last spring need to make sure to join the Schoology group sent to them by Mrs. Cole. Volunteer opportunities and group updates will be posted there. Students need to maintain a 3.5 GPA during their 8th grade year and serve at least 10 hours of volunteer time in their community to remain active.
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Our goal at ERMS is to recognize positive behavior happening everywhere in our school. Every staff member is handing out Ram Pride tickets to recognize this behavior. As students earn Ram Pride tickets they are able to submit them into drawings for prizes, treats, gift cards, and fun experiences. Last week we gave away things like free cookies, slushes, school supplies, shirts, Ram gear, socks, and more. This is a major focus for ALL staff members, and we look forward to seeing the benefits of this the whole school year. Ask your child if they are earning Ram Pride tickets at school!
