Mrs. Terry's Monthly Newsletter
Topics for the Month of March
Hello! This month in class we will start our healthy living unit. Week one we will cover the basics of a healthy diet. Students will get to create a menu for the week based on what they have learned. We will also be cooking a balanced dinner! Week two will be devoted to the topic of mental health. We will discuss balance in work, school, and relationships and how they affect the mind. Week three will be devoted to the importance of exercise on the body. Topics from week one will be re visited while we learn how to balance diet and exercise to keep our bodies fueled. In our last week of the month students will present their "Healthy Living Ideals" project. Students will illustrate their idea of a healthy lifestyle and present it to the class. Creative uses of technology or art are encouraged!
Parents!
March 8 & 9 will be hands on cooking days. If you would like to volunteer to help in the classroom or provide needed materials let me know! My email and phone number are listed at the bottom of the newsletter.
Students place high in national essay competition! Congratulations to these three!
FCCLA Bake Sale Fundraiser
Our Family Career and Community Leaders of America group is having a bake sale to raise funds for their trip to the state capital. If you would like to donate baked goods they can be dropped off in my classroom before school every day the week of March 15th. Students will sell during lunch of that week and also at the boys varsity basketball game on Saturday.
