The District 622 e-news will come out bi-weekly through August.
Summer Program
District 622’s FREE summer meal program
District 622 is participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). All enrolled children will be served a meal, without charge, on a first come, first served basis. The meals are the same for all children, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. To participate, students must come to one of the buildings hosting summer programming during posted mealtimes. Visit the Nutrition Services Free Summer Meal Program website for a full schedule of locations, times, and dates/days. There are no drive-up meals this summer.
Points of Pride
North and Tartan Drama Programs Shine at Spotlight Showcase
On June 12 and 13, the drama programs from North and Tartan performed at the annual Spotlight Showcase. Sponsored by the Hennepin Theatre Trust, the Spotlight Showcase celebrates and recognizes high school musical theater productions.
Both schools received Honorable Mentions in Musical Theatre. North performed a medley from their fall 2021 production of Mamma Mia and Tartan performed a medley from their spring 2022 production of Legally Blonde.

Tartan's Kaley Franzwa finalist in Triple Threat competition
Tartan Senior Kaley Franzwa was a Triple Threat finalist at the annual Spotlight Showcase. Kaley was among 24 individuals who were considered for the opportunity to visit New York to learn and train with Broadway professionals. Finalists were chosen after a live audition showing their singing, dancing, acting, and leadership skills. Making it to the top 24 performers in Minnesota High School Musical Theater is a huge honor and shows the hard work that Kaley has put in over the years.
Polar Clay Target team places 1st in Class 1A!
North High's Clay Target team competed in the state tournament in Alexandria earlier this month and earn first place in Class 1A. Congratulations Polars!
Tartan senior participates in groundbreaking ceremony
Aiden Burback, an mechanical engineering intern at Hallberg Engineering, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony at Tartan earlier today. Aiden is a senior at Tartan and is also a sophomore at the University of Minnesota where he is a full-time Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) student. He is also part of the Titan football team as well as other activities. Way to go, Aiden!
United Marching Band performs this summer
District 622's United Marching Band provides a great summer performance experience for students currently in grades 7-11. The group has already performed at the White Bear Lake Manitou Days and Oakdale Summerfest parades. Here is their upcoming performance schedule:
July 9 - Lakeville Pan-O-Prog Parade
July 16 - Centerville Parade
July 17 - Stillwater Lumberjack Days Parade
August TBA - MN State Fair Parade
September 10 - Osseo Lions Roar Parade

Scene Around 622
North High groundbreaking ceremony
North administrative staff at the groundbreaking ceremony held on June 21. Participating was Assistant Principal Stephanee Goeken, Dean of Students Keith Reynolds, Activities Director Jed Helwig, Assistant Principal Deron Drummond, and Principal Kevin Wolff.
Tartan High groundbreaking ceremony
Tartan and 622 administrative personnel participated in a groundbreaking ceremony earlier today at Tartan High School. In attendance were Principal Bethany DeCent, Superintendent Christine Tucci Osorio, Activities Director Bryan Munter, Assistant Superintendents Ty Thompson and Tricia St. Michaels, and Assistant Principals Junior Eugene and Sterling Brown.
