Wolf Call Weekly Senior Edition
Special Edition for the Class of 2021
Dear Class of 2021,

Updated 3/12/21
It is hard to believe that we are quickly approaching our Senior Event Season. In pre-Covid times, after Spring Break, I always visited Senior classrooms and reminded students to finish strong. Things are just not the same in this hybrid distance learning world! However, that does not change my message and the encouragement I would give each of you: finish strong!
We hear the questions - Will we have a prom? Will we have a sports season? What will graduation look like? How can we continue the tradition of Senior Breakfast?
When will the school give us answers? This is the question I hear from students and families that ruminates in my mind.
I wish I had all the answers. I wish we could continue our planning as normal. Celebrating our Senior Class is an annual operation that has been fine tuned through years of planning. Our traditional planning schedules, lists, purchases and meetings have also been turned upside down. We are also adjusting to the reality of COVID.
As we start to slowly reopen, we need your partnership! Please continue to wear a mask, wash your hands, practice social distancing and stay home from school and activities if you have any symptoms. We need to be vigilant with these precautions - at our lunches, in class, as practicable during sports and activities. Hosting our Senior events will be dependent on the current trend of fighting the COVID virus.
Despite the pandemic you deserve to be celebrated. I want to take this moment to share - I am proud of all of you! I believe in the future of our world because of your ability to face obstacles, persevere and create innovative solutions to unique problems. We will navigate the unknown together.
In this newsletter you will find important “save the date” information for Prom and Graduation along with many more reminders and updates. This newsletter will be updated as we know more and as things change (and I am sure something will change even as this is sent to each of you!)
As we close out your Senior year, I am asking for your trust, flexibility and patience, while I continue to advocate for the West Hills community. My promise moving forward is to release updates as they become available. Many of the decisions being made requires our school sites to unify around a district wide solution. We need time to hold deliberate conversations with a variety of stakeholders.
I look forward to seeing the Class of 2021 achieving together, looking towards a promising future, full of new opportunities!
Thank you Class of 2021! You are an incredible group of students and families!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Robin Ballarin

Cap and Gown Info
We continue to work on our Graduation plans. We do have a date set and plan on having an in person graduation ceremony that is in compliance with district, county, and state guidelines on the football field.
You can go online to www.sdgrad.com and order a class ring, Letterman Jacket, and/or a cap and gown (either a free loaner or one for purchase).
All Seniors participating in any graduation must order their cap and gown (even if a free loaner).
We communicate with the vendor Honor Grads so no one needs to indicate a color, just a size and whether you want to purchase or borrow one that has been cleaned and sanitized for free). You just search by our school name and purchase whatever you like.
Graduation announcements can be your own design from any vendor or you can call 619-440-5426 to place an order with San Diego Grad. Supply.

We have lovely senior formals, a crazy collection of student-submitted photos for 9-11, and augmented reality access to sports content using the Yearbook A/R app. Plus, our staff section is filled with autobiographies, bitmojis, and at least one photo you have to see to believe.
Supply is limited to 400 books, so reserve yours now for the reduced price of just $50 at yearbookforever.com or the ASB webstore.
Do you need a transcript?
While you are a West Hills student, you may always request formal (official) transcripts from us via our website for free. Many colleges, universities, NCAA, the military, or trade schools ask for your transcripts or "proof of your diploma". This website is how you request this to be sent. Please note before accessing this google form, you need to have the complete and accurate address of where you want the transcripts sent. It is sent to the institution and address you enter so please double check your entry before you submit it.
Please note: NO transcripts are "sent automatically" to anyone. If you need one, you need to complete the form on our website.
Once you have graduated and a year or more has passed, we do ask for a nominal fee to process this request. That fee is listed on our website.
You may always download your own "unofficial transcript" from within your student portal until 30 days after graduation
