Where Learning Takes Flight

A Note from Mrs. Tallent

This week we had a great time dressing up for Red Ribbon Week. The highlight of the week was our students "Saying Boo to Drugs" by dressing up as their favorite Story Book Character. As promised we were able to video the parade and will send it to parents in a separate email so it is not posted on any social media. Fare warning, it is almost 18 minutes long! Don't forget to follow your child's teacher as well as @humbleisd_fce to see pictures and all the activities we have going on here at FCE!

Please remember that Monday is an Elementary School Holiday and has been devoted for Teacher Conferences. If you have not set up a conference with your child's teacher, please reach out to them. We would love to update you on your child's progress so far this year, what strengths we are seeing and what areas are we continuing to support them in. We would love for all of our teachers to have all conferences completed by November 5th.

Our Cardinal County Fair is right around the corner! Mr. Griffin and I are so excited to experience this for the first time. We hope you can join us next Saturday, November 6th for all the fun!

Library Clubs Update

Our newest Cardinal has joined the crew so Mrs. Andrew is out on maternity leave. She has communicated through Remind regarding clubs, but I just wanted to make sure everyone is aware that all of our Library Clubs (Pokemon, Creative Writing, Battle of the Books, and Lego/Mindcraft) are all postponed until she returns from maternity leave in January. Once she returns we will send out communication letting parents know that those clubs have resumed.

Chess Club Update

We had significantly more students than anticipated show interest in the Chess Club. Mr. Hopkins and I are trying to get additional chess boards and work out a plan so that everyone who showed interest can participate. Sorry it is taking so long, but I am hoping to get something out to the parents who signed up very soon! Thanks!

Turkey Trot

We will be having our Annual Turkey Trot again this year on Friday, November 19th during each grade levels specials time. We welcome parents to join us and ask that you enter through the side gate. We will have a check in table set up just like we did for our Boosterthon Fun Run.

From Our Counselor

Please check out our 2nd Nine Weeks Counselor Newsletter. Get a glimpse of what your student is learning when it comes to social emotional skills as well as how our counselor is here to support! If you have any questions or want to connect please reach out to Mrs. Baba. She will now be serving all our K-5th grade students!
