THEATRE COMMUNITY SERVICE
On Friday the 13th, Chandler High Theatre collected 1060 lbs of food and over $300 for Matthew's Crossing Food Bank at their annual Haunted House for Charity! 45 Chandler High theatre students spent their fall break building an elaborate spooky maze and became various "scare-actors" throughout on the night of the Haunt. Hundreds of people walked through and their admission in was their donation of a non-perishable food item or cash for the local food bank. It was a huge success thanks to the students and community members' support!
FOOTBALL COMMUNITY SERVICE
CHS Football volunteered at Feed My Starving Children over Fall Break and packed 72 boxes, including 15,552 meals, to benefit the neediest children around the world. Great job, Wolves!

CHS THINK FIRST
CHS is part of a new grant program through the Governor’s Office to raise awareness, educate, and influence behavior around underage drinking, marijuana use, and prescription drug misuse. In October, Mrs. Sarah Hunter, CHS’s Prevention Coach, will be going into some PE classes to teach 10 lessons through Life Skills Training about good health, managing stress, family communications, healthy relationships, and more. The first kick-off to promote the program was held during Homecoming Week, and tons of t-shirts, lanyards, and wrist bands were handed out! Thank you to the parents who filled out the survey, grabbed a cookie, and won prizes. On campus, students will have the opportunity to volunteer and earn community service hours and assist with lunch booths. In addition, students can win promotional items such as movie tickets, lanyards, wrist bands, t-shirts, notebooks, cinch bags, and much more. Follow us on Twitter @CHSThinkfirst.
BIKE GIVEAWAY
Throughout the course of this school year, Officer Keipert has had a raffle board available for students to draw a chip and get into a raffle for a brand new mountain type bicycle. On September 25th, Officer Keipert and Principal Larry Rother were glad to announce the winner of the bicycle to be Jackson Zuber. Jackson also received a $25.00 gift card to Walmart to go towards the purchase of a helmet and a bike lock. The winning chip denomination was $.52; that's right, over $150.00 in prizes for 52 cents! What a bargain! Officer Keipert was able to raise over $400.00 with this raffle with all the money staying at CHS and going back to students to purchase items such as alarm clocks, locker locks, bike locks, and helmets for students in need. Congratulations to Jackson on his win and thanks to the anonymous alumni who donated the bicycle to give away!
