Farewell Dealey

Dear Dealey Parents,

I want to again thank all of you for your support and confidence in me throughout the
past 3 years. I will certainly miss working in this community and the opportunity
to interact with such a special group of students. I am very proud of the faculty and staff of Dealey and know they will continue to work tirelessly to provide a high quality education for your children.

I am also excited for Dealey to transition to new leadership under the direction of Ms. Tiffany Huitt, Executive Director of all magnet schools in Dallas ISD. I look forward to watching the success and growth of Dealey as it moves forward.

It has been my privilege to be the leader of such a vibrant, high quality and hard working

community.

Sincerely,

Beverly Lusk

Meet Your New Teachers!

Ms. Tyler Wilkerson - 7th Math

I am originally from North Carolina where I attended the UNC-Chapel Hill...go Tarheels! I studied Math Grades Education and specialized in math and science. I moved to Dallas four years ago and have taught Algebra I and II for three years in DISD and served as the Math Instructional Coach at Woodrow Wilson High School during the last school year. I am currently working on a Master's degree in Education Leadership at SMU, and cannot wait to take everything I have learned and experienced over the last several years into a middle school setting!

Ms. April Spitzer - 4-6 Montessori

Dear Dealey Montessori families,

I am so excited to begin our learning journey together. I have been a teacher for four years. I previously taught 4th grade in Garland ISD for three years and 2nd grade for one year in Northern New York where my husband was stationed in the Army. We have lived all over the United States and a few locations in Europe (Germany and Belgium). After 22 years of moving about, I am thrilled to be settled in Texas with our extended families.

We have two adult daughters, three dogs, and two cats. You could say that we are animal lovers. In our free time we like to find the best BBQ in Texas, travel, and go kayaking.

I am really looking forward to meeting each of you.

Ms. Ashley Calfee - 1-3 Montessori (Replacing Ms. Barta)

Dear students and families,

I am so excited to be apart of the Dealey family and look forward to meeting each one of you this fall! I wanted to tell you a little about myself to help ease the transition of a new teacher, I know I have big shoes to fill! My name is Ashley Calfee and I have two years of experience working in Montessori. I received my Bachelors in Communication Studies from Azusa Pacific University, and my Masters in Education from Western Governors University. I grew up in Minnesota and moved to California for college, where I stayed for 5 years because I love the sunshine! I am married to my husband David and we have a fluffy white cat named Leroy. When I'm not in the classroom I love to go sailing, camping, biking, and anything else outdoors. I look forward to working at Dealey and am excited to plan fun projects, class parties, and to start planting in our community garden. I hope to partner with families to provide the best experience possible for your children.

Enjoy your summer!

Online Enrollment

Dallas ISD provides an online enrollment option to parents and families to facilitate the registration / enrollment process for all K-12 students. By utilizing online enrollment, parents no longer need to wait in lines to fill out paper forms at the campus to enroll their child. Additionally, online enrollment helps Dallas ISD reduce paper waste, while creating a convenient, fast, and accurate online enrollment experience at your fingertips.

Looking for a convenient, fast and accurate way to register your child? Enrollment at your fingertips is just a click away!

A couple of notes:

  1. As of now, online registration is for returning Dallas ISD families (even if you are new to Dealey, coming from another Dallas ISD campus). We will get info to NEW DISD families in July/August. Stay tuned.
  2. The system doesn't allow you to adjust the student's grade level. This will be adjusted by the Data Controller in August.
