Family Science Night
Science is All Around Us
The highlight of the Science Year will be held on May 6th from 5-6:30pm. Students will complete a comprehensive project in class with four main components: Multimedia, display, model, and hands-on activity. Students will set up a display and present these projects at the Science Night. Students are required to attend unless there is an emergency or illness. This is an exciting event where students gets to show off their science knowledge.
Your child will be signing a contract with their teachers and group members. This contract includes committing to responsibility, teamwork, honesty, hard work, and safety. Feel free to ask for a copy if you would like to read it.
Teachers also ask for your help! Your student will be bringing a letter home to determine what you are comfortable providing for this special night. Please consider the following:
- Attending (students always ask if a teacher noticed family members who came)
- Arrange transportation to CMS by 4:45pm until 7:00pm
- Eating - food sold by Home & School in the cafeteria (field trips and parties would be impossible without these funds)
- Helping with clean up from 6:30-7:00pm
- Providing financially for your student's project. Student groups are allowed to spend up to $20 for the entire project unless special permission is given to spend more. Many projects will have no cost at all!
Your child will be bringing a info flyer home - you are asked to sign and return the bottom portion of this sheet!
