Message to Honors, AP, and AVID Students
We hope you are having a safe and enjoyable summer! We want to enrich your summer by providing you with opportunities to sharpen your skills and to deepen your learning in preparation for the honors and/or AP course(s) for which you have enrolled. Please read the linked assignment(s) in its/their entirety. If you have ANY questions about the assignment(s), which is/are due Thursday, 5 September 2019, or Friday, 6 September 2019, depending upon your course(s), please contact via email the teacher whose name is listed above the course or contact Ms. Lee (leep2@fultonschools.org) or Ms. Veasey (veasey@fultonschools.org), and we will answer your questions.
We encourage you to discuss the texts and assignments with your peers; that's an integral part of the learning process. At the same time, we expect for you to familiarize yourself with and abide by the FCS Honor Code Policy below as you engage in learning.
FCS Honor Code Policy
Rule 9. Honor Code Violation (Honesty) The expectation is that each student will be honest and submit his/her own work. Cheating, plagiarism and other Honor Code violations are strictly prohibited. Examples of violations of this rule include, but are not limited to:
ï‚· copying or "borrowing" from another source and submitting it as one's own work
ï‚· seeking or accepting unauthorized assistance on tests, projects or other assignments
ï‚· fabricating data or resources
ï‚· providing or receiving test questions in advance without permission
ï‚· working collaboratively with other students when individual work is expected
See Policy JCD, Student Academic Integrity.
Your teacher(s) will give you more instructions regarding submitting your assignment(s) via Turnitin.com.
Again, ALL assignments are due Thursday, 5 September 2019, or Friday, 6 September 2019, depending upon your course(s) to ensure that students who received the link late, those new to CHS, and those moving into an honors and/or AP course have ample opportunity to dive into learning and to build common knowlege and a community of learning.
We have also assigned the due date(s) for your assignment(s) based upon your offline, summer interests, hobbies, and jobs. Still, we STRONGLY encourage you to manage your time and to complete the assignments during the summer--prior to your return to school Monday, 12 August 2019.
Soak up some of the summer actively thinking about, discussing, and exploring how the world of ideas in the book(s) you're reading are manifest in our lives. :)
Your Honors, AP, and AVID Teachers.
