Monthly Guidance Counselor Newsletter
All I can say is it has been a busy month around West Elementary and it isn't over yet. The spring is one of my favorite times at school because the students have many events in which to participate. Remember to check your student's weekly newsletter so you do not miss out on all the happenings at West this month. I hope each of your students have had an enjoyable year at West this year. As always, if there is anything I can do to help, please do not hesitate to contact me.
A few weeks ago our sixth grade had the opportunity to visit space camp. Before our departure, I realized this would be a wonderful educational opportunity for our students; however, I did not realize how much fun we would have along the way. Check out the video below to see some of the highlights from the trip.

5th Grade Puppet Show
Our fifth grade students presented a character education puppet show for our second and third grade students. Fifth grade students recorded their voices prior to the show. Our second and third graders enjoyed seeing our fifth graders using puppets.

Wheel of Choice
I came across the wheel of choice the other day and thought it was important to share. We often talk in guidance about our choices. I explain to students that sometimes we make going choices and sometimes we do not make the best choice. We look at examples like the one below to see what our options our before we make a poor choice.
