Parent/Teacher Conferences:
Parent-teacher relationships are most effective when participants have frequent and open communication with each other and demonstrate mutual respect for each other’s role in a child’s life. When families are positively involved in their child’s education, the child will flourish. Please plan on attending one of our two scheduled Parent/Teacher Conference Nights on Wednesday, Feb 3 or Thursday, February 11.
Our Encore, Roughriders, and Trailblazers Teams will hold first come-first serve conferences, while our Mavericks and Patriots Teams are holding conferences by appointment. If you would like to make an appointment for either the Maverick or Patriot teachers please visit the Albion Webpage , click on “Teams” on the top toolbar and select either Mavericks or Trailblazers.

Albion's annual Spelling Bee was held on Monday, January 25. Congratulations to all of our participants. Special congratulations to 8th grade student, Katherine, our Spelling Bee Champion and 8th grade student, Ryan, our Runner Up.

8th Grade "Reality Day":
Volunteers are needed to help with the annual 8th Grade Reality Day, a real-world simulation that is schedule for Friday, February 12 from 8:30am until 12:00 Noon. Help is needed from 8:30am - 12:00pm. If you can volunteer, please sign up on Sign-Up Genius. Thank you!
Team Update:
The Rough Riders have been very busy this month.. Mr. Green”s classes are starting their look at the Constitution and working on their Constitution handbooks. In language arts, we are dramatically reading “The Diary of Anne Frank” and discussing and writing about that historical era. In science, classes are studying genetics and will be creating their own superhero using superhero parent genetics. In health, students are continuing their work with the reproductive system. Officer Don is continuing to visit our class every Tuesday. Pi (pie) day will be coming soon in math!
Reality Day is approaching quickly. On that day our students will be experiencing a real-world simulation where they get a job and “family” and live within a budget. Students will also be attending talks with both high school and college students to get a chance to talk about high school and college life. In the afternoon they will get to explore different careers through listening to a variety of people coming in to speak about their vocations. We have everything from physicians, to army officers, to sign language teachers! Hopefully our students will get a small dose of what real life may be like when they are older!
Finally, we will be going to Polaris to tour the facility and visit some options the students will have in the future. On the same day the students will begin the process of scheduling for the next year when the high school counselors visit to explain class choices, distribute scheduling information, and answer any student questions.
Kiwanis Read Around the World:
The Kiwanis Club of Strongsville is sponsoring its annual Kiwanis Read Around the World program on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM at the Strongsville Community Library.
