Parent Engagement Night - FRIDAY
We will be having our annual parent engagement night on Friday, February 15th! The Studco Valentine's Dance will be from 4-6 after school. If students' parents come to the parent engagement night, they can stay for a movie in the LGIA with their friends. For parent engagement night, we will have FREE food and childcare, and a variety of sessions to increase parent awareness. Topics include the transition to high school; PowerSchool proactivity; sex trafficking; parenting today's teenagers; digital media safety. Unless you already know you're facilitating a session or serving in some other way (dance supervision, etc), you need only promote student and parent attendance and your presence is not required. Please encourage students and parents to attend as it's a great evening!!!!

Thank you to Mr. Lord for planning the benchmark incentive field trips for 7th and 8th grade this past week. Thank you to Student Council for planning a fun spirit week and pep rally! Thank you to Ms. Wagner for organizing the NAEP testing in an organized and efficient fashion. Thank you to Mr. Patton for awesome PD on google classroom on Friday morning!
Rule Reminders/Clarifications
- No breakfast should be taken out of the cafeteria at anytime - and no food in the classroom
- PDA: no holding hands; no kissing; hugs are debatable (use your judgment on hugs)
- NO bandanas of any color are allowed
Clerical Information
Kelli Biles is all things enrollment (Susy only does enrollment when Kelli is not here)
Kelli is here 830-1230 approximately
When Kelli is here, Suzy will be working with students or parents in the Miner Onliner so that the enrollment office can maintain confidentiality
Anytime students need to see Susy, they should ALWAYS have a pass. Teachers can continue to contact Susy to work with students, and this can be done through email or text with her cell phone. But students must always have a pass
IB Information
On March 14 as a component of Expo Night, we will hold a Culture Fair where parents, students, and staff members can present their cultures with artifacts, dress, music, and food items. If you are interested in participating or know someone who may want to participate, please email Mrs. Toth or me. We would love to have several cultures represented.
Please remember to post page 1 of your IB unit planner to remind kids and yourself!
Summer
Please reserve on your calendars August 5, 6, 7 for our summer professional development on IB unit plans, MTSS, and PBIS. If you do not already have plans, it's essential you be present. As occurred last year, every staff member will be granted a day of flex time per day you attend, and this gives us the opportunity as a school to use more than 5 days of flex time toward any uncapped workday in the next school calendar year. This is a fun privilege we can exercise through our "calendar flexibility" as a restart school (which is a public school with charter like flexibility).
