Links to Remote Learning for Week of November 9 - 13

Big picture

We Salute our Veterans!

This week, in honor of the Veteran’s Day holiday, school will be closed for teachers and students on Wednesday, November 11. We hope that your family will enjoy some time off that day remembering and honoring our veterans.

We’d like to let you know that our YMCA after-school program is back in session. Please see ClassDojo for more details and a sign up link.

This week, we continue our NC check in assessments. Third graders will take their check-ins on Monday and Tuesday. On Thursday and Friday, our fifth grade students will continue with their NC check in assessments. These assessments help teachers know how kids are learning and what they need to do. Please make sure your child is well-rested and arrives on time if possible.

Thanks to everyone for helping make our morning carline go much faster and safer. It works great when kids have their masks and bookbags already on. We would like to remind parents of bus riders that students must be wearing their masks and have their attestation forms out in order to board the bus. We appreciate your efforts to keep everyone safe and to get the day started off right.

Wherever you are learning today, RISE and SHINE and have a great day! #WErise

About Attendance

Parents, please note that since we have moved to Plan A, students who are participating in Plan A will be marked PRESENT or ABSENT. If your child is not in school, you will need to send in absence notes as usual and it will be coded as excused or unexcused. If your child is officially quarantined, those absences would be excused. If your child needs to be out, we will work with you to make sure your child doesn't get behind.

For students who continue with remote learning note that in order for us to count your child in attendance off site, we must on a daily basis verify that the student is engaged (completing and submitting assignments), on pace (participating in the virtual classroom), or receiving academic/emotional support (directly from the teacher). If this isn't happening, your child will be counted absent. Please make sure that your child is submitting work and that you are communicating with the teacher daily. Thanks in advance for your help!
