Losing to win an ispiring story of the lady jags
Discouragement, embarrassment, frustration and hopeless all the things Lady Jags were feeling that night... when they heard they were on a 218 game losing streak anger arrived. Besides the anger that they were feeling a little hope was slowly coming. Hope from their team, hope from their coaches support and hope from themselves. They may not be good at basketball but that doesn't matter what matters is how they feel about it. How they feel about that team as their second family, a family who cared. From all the anxiety and pain the girls were feeling all throughout their childhood Carroll Academy came up with a solution to help the girls feel like they matter and are actually talented. So they made a basketball team not to make the girls feel like there suck or not talented but to show that they can trust one another and bond with the other girls on the team. In the video the one of the coaches said that he didn't want this one girl Hayley on the team because of her anger issues and depression she has. But the other coach disagreed, he saw something in the girl and didn't want to give up on her. So if you're feeling worthless or sad your not alone. Theres a ton of people in this world that don't get the support and love they need but remember this… Never give in work harder and soon enough you will feel proud and worthful.
Winston Churchill a brave historical figure
Winston Churchill was a brave and inspiring historical figure. He was born on November 19, 1847. His childhood wasn't the best. He was usually lonely and sad until his family hired a nanny and at the point of time the nanny was the best thing that's ever happened to him until she passed. Throughout his life he has shown desperation, loneliness, bravery, and also honesty. For example in his speech where he talks about how he went from nothing to everything in a matter of time. in the text it states, “when I was here last time we were quite alone, desperately alone, and we had been so for five or six months. We were poorly armed. We are not so poorly armed today; but then we were very poorly armed. We had the unmeasured menace of the enemy and their air attack still beating upon us, and you yourselves had had experience of this attack”.
However, he is known best for his fame and leadership in leading the military into battle and his election to British Parliaments. But his biggest accomplishment was he served as Prime Minister of Britain from 1940 to 1945 and from 1951 to 1955. During this time Winston has elected for a bunch of things and he became a busy man but was true to his people. Winston once said “You cannot tell from appearances how things will go. Sometimes imagination makes things out far worse than they are; yet without imagination not much can be done. Those people who are imaginative see many more dangers than perhaps exist; certainly many more than will happen; but then they must also pray to be given that extra courage to carry this far-reaching imagination.” From this quote we know that he was a well spoken man who really believed in the things he could do to save and take leadership in all the fightings and wars.
In conclusion, Winston Churchill life was rough in the beginning but ended up saving lives and taking role in leadership in the world and will forever live in history.
Jackie Robinson a life changer
Jackie Robinson is a Inspirational and brave historical figure. He was born in the segregation he is best known for when he ended racial segregation that had relegated black players to the times. His childhood wasn't the best all the little white kids would pick on him and make fun of him for being black.
Throughout his life he has shown bravery, strength, and tenacity. For example when he joined the team Robinson broke the baseball racial divide, when the Brooklyn Dodgers started him at first base on April 15, 1947. He also demonstrates bravery and strength during by with (example here). However, he Negro leagues since the 1880s
During this time segregation was a big problem and Jackie isn't the only one who tried ending it. Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr. and etc. All played a part in ending the dramatic color line. Jackie Robinson once said “a life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” From this quote, we know Jackie Robinson is trying to tell us that no matter what u do with your life or how you live it, it only matters about what you do to help others to inspire.
As you can see Jackie Robinson was a huge part in ending segregation especially with baseball and even though there were many adversities he pushed through it and ended segregation/ succeeded.
Conclusion
what we can learn from perseverance in order to overcome adversities in todays world, is that when we overcome our adversities in todays world is much easier to persevere. Its easier because once all the problems and difficulties are taken care of, you don't have anything in your way to become successful.
